Hi all,
As you probably know we re-plaftormed the site overnight on Tuesday (in order to move to a faster, more stable and secure site which would be easier to develop new features on). There are a number of issues and bugs as a result of the move that we are working through and we thought it would be a good idea to list them on a page which we can keep updated as we sort through the problems. You can find that page here.

Mumsnet is a very large, complicated and old site - we've been working on re-platforming for the best part of 3 years - so it's not a huge surprise there are some bugs but please be assured we are working our way through them will get to them all as soon as we possibly can. In the meantime I do apologise for any inconvenience and frustration - I know it's been a painful day and a half for some.

Thank you to all those who've fed back and are helping us solve the remaining issues - it's really much appreciated Flowers.

"Reply" just means you're adding a comment to the thread. It's not to a specific post. To do that, you do need to use the "quote" function.

I agree this is misleading, maybe it should automatically include the poster's name if you've clicked reply from a specific post.

I've got a notification for a PM but when I went to my inbox I can't see any new messages and the notification won't go away.

I am waiting on replies so I assume I do actually have a message waiting to be read, but I'm just not sure. Some other people I've spoken to mentioned issues with their PMs too so it's not just me.

Would appreciate a bit of help with that.

Still getting the random appearance of black 502 error box covering most of the screen.

Still not taken back to the bookmark but to the place I started reading that session when refreshing the page.

And it is still ridiculously slow to load threads, post, bookmark and generally respond.

(Mobile phone, android, chrome)

Why has the gap disappeared between a quoted post and a reply on the app? Makes it very difficult to see where the quote stops and the reply starts.

FGS. I start to think that going to threads via notifications is now ok - it’s taking me to the last post I read on that thread. Except, now, some threads are taking me back to the first flipping page again. This is REALLY BLOOMING TIRESOME.

Also, please can you reinstate the “go to” box for page numbers. Because trying to navigate without it is really irritating (especially given the whole “notifications” not working.

Its also pointless screenshotting something (eg a Twitter post) and then posting it as a photo - the image is so small, you have no chance of being able to read it.

Please reintroduce the “MNHQ have commented on this thread” across the whole site. It was a useful indicator.

Finally - is anyone actually reading and acting on these issues? Don’t get me wrong, I’m fudging my way through on the few threads I’m interested in, but the whole user experience doesn’t make me want to interact more freely.

I don't know if this has been mentioned but sentences at the ends of posts are cut off on the app.

I came here to say that. In particular on posts with quotes in (so this'll be a test).

Please, please, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, can someone not fix the issue of threads not opening at the bookmark, but way upthread at some randomly-chosen point where I was reading at a previous session?

I'm following a very long and fast-moving thread and EVERY TIME I go back to it, my bookmark is ignored and I have to scroll forever back down to it. It’s reaching the stage where I could almost scream and/or weep with rage, it wastes so much time Angry

This. I gave up. It was so slow and frustrating last night. I buggered off Mumsnet to do something less annoying. If I were a new user I wouldn't bloody stay as the experience was so awful. (6 or 7 appearances of the black box error, being taken back up thread at the start and when I left it to sort out a kid and wanted to come back then needed to refresh, the refreshing taking half a minute, pictures not loading for about 30 seconds or more then randomly opening very slowly as you are several posts down, not knowing whether clicking on pictures had worked, bookmarks taking ages to respond, brushing against ads as scrolling takes you off site and repeat the 30 second wait to get back in, big blank spaces where ads aren't loading, big blank white spaces when trying to scroll down back to bookmark as it's taken you way back up thread, then slow reappearance of text.

I have noticed this morning that aibu board seems less busy as threads are not moving up and down the boards as fast and there are fewer posts on threads in the top half of page one. 6 reply post was still 6 replies and in the top half of page one after I had read another thread. This is not normal for Saturday morning.

I'm not reading 400 posts but I think pictures have been mentioned. On my windows laptop with chrome, they appear so small you can barely make out any detail. Eg screenshots of elsewhere on site and twitter, absolutely useless and blurred.

Can this be fixed please?

I keep asking for this according to MN Update Page referenced in the Opening Post it was going to be done ASAP. That page was last updated on the 6th May, I think ASAP is identifying as something else in MNHQ world.

@JustineMumsnet Could you please update the page in your Opening Post and give us definitive time scales for when these issues are going to be sorted out.

A lot of small things seem to have changed, and not for the better. You can't refresh the page to see if there are any new posts, nor can you go back to where you were in a thread (although this seems to be variable - you can sometimes) and have to start again from the beginning to find where you had read to. The 'reply' function, in the box that comes up when you click on the three dots at the bottom of the post does not seem to work for me. The quote function is ok, though. On iPad/Safari.

I’m on an Ipad using safsri and don’t get a “reply” option in my three dots.

I am getting irritated by the small stuff too, having to bookmark threads religiously to keep my place (I managed without for the most part before).

I am on several long running threads with lots of longterm posters and they are all full of people saying they are struggling with various aspects.
