Mumsnet Talk re-platforming - Known issues update

Hi all,
As you probably know we re-plaftormed the site overnight on Tuesday (in order to move to a faster, more stable and secure site which would be easier to develop new features on). There are a number of issues and bugs as a result of the move that we are working through and we thought it would be a good idea to list them on a page which we can keep updated as we sort through the problems. You can find that page here.

Mumsnet is a very large, complicated and old site - we've been working on re-platforming for the best part of 3 years - so it's not a huge surprise there are some bugs but please be assured we are working our way through them will get to them all as soon as we possibly can. In the meantime I do apologise for any inconvenience and frustration - I know it's been a painful day and a half for some.

Thank you to all those who've fed back and are helping us solve the remaining issues - it's really much appreciated .

@JustineMumsnet I don't mind doing that.

@MNHQ Why can I see trending on my laptop/desktop, but can't see them on my android tablet? (Google chrome browser in both cases). I could see trending on my tablet 2 days ago🤔

Anyone else got the same? And yes, I have logged out and back in on my tablet... but no change 😕

where before it would have the number of new replies say 4/6 or 80 if hadn’t looked for a while

but unless I click on it I don’t know if new ones /or if I’ve read them , unless I’m the last one to post

I'm finding this too, it's surprisingly annoying and I'm struggling to get used to it for some reason. On the whole the update has been OK for me.

I'd also like the Threads I'm Watching to have the number of new posts since I last viewed rather than total posts. That's how it displayed before. I much prefer this feature now though on the whole, love being able to order by latest update rather than just date watched.

Further to my previous question, I mean why isn't 'trending' visible at the top of right on a page on my tablet? Yes, it's there at the bottom of the page on my tablet, but I only look at the top right on my tablet, just as I do on my laptop/desktop version.

Surely it should be consistent across all ways of using mumsnet? Or am I missing something obvious @MNHQ?

Are we still not having a bigger/brighter border between posts?

Has it been mentioned that if you are sending a PM pressing enter sends the message instead of starting a new paragraph? V irritating!

My bookmarks still aren't working...

Notifications STILL don’t work - get taken back to first page of thread. This is THE most annoying thing for me.

And adding a post, have had the screen refresh multiple times and lose everything I’ve typed. Plus point is I’m getting more done around the house.

Generally, site seems really slow and “laggy”, it’s not quick to navigate around.

This is still happening. Beyond annoying now to constantly have to scroll through ever more posts to find the bookmark.

Please go back to us having the option to hide the OP on every page. I made a thread about this. It's a nuisance to start every page with the Ops OP and not to have the hide option.

Threads I've read on the app are indicating I've read them but if I go into active and come back to threads I'm on they don't indicate any more and some don't have new posts. I keep thinking there's posts I've not reas

Quoting a quote should have been a real enhancement - instead we have these insane multiple vertical lines which add to the huge amount of ssssssssssscccccccccccrrrrrrrrrrrrrooooooooooooolllllllllllliiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg now required for this site. Really bloody annoying and very poorly designed.

My 'Active' is set to show 50 threads, and it says it's showing 50 threads, but guess how many it's actually showing? Go on, guess.

Something weird in the email you get back when you report a post. You used to get a link to the reported post and now you don't get that. And the email includes your email address in the report

That looks like the sort of automated "tut tutting!" you get on Twitter, something like, "Are you sure you want to say that? There are some very sensitive people on here who might have a fit of the vapours!"

I find if I scroll right to the bottom of the email the reported post text is there and link is in the the poster's name.
