Format change

Hi, my format has changed where before it was an old style where I could just see the last few threads but now when I click on what I'm on, it's showing me everything.

When I came on mumsnet today, it forced me to login again and then the format has changed. How can I go back to the original? I'm on an android phone.

It is very slow too. Just appears to die half way through reading a thread, although that could be the ads. Must get an ad blocker to see if that helps.

Where has the advanced search button gone?!

The contrast between the bold and plain text is too much. It's jarring and making things harder to read. The username really doesn't need to be so prominent! Can the top line be changed to blue and the heavy bolding be toned down a notch?

Similarly with the heavy bolding of @ usernames.

Offending part ringed in blue on the unlikely off-chance you don't know what im talking about.

And just one more thing, why aren't new paragraphs capitalising the first letter automatically?

And the ability to select show all on a thread by thread basis.

And why doesn't the page fit into my screen without me having to pinch it into place? It's really annoying.

PMs are seriously broken. Even posting isn't always working properly. I had to post one in two parts because Mumsnet was giving errors repeatedly.

I have had many more notifications of PMs than actual PMs.

Clicking on a notification that I'd been mentioned in a post took me to the top of the relevant thread, not to the post that mentioned me.

Has this had proper QA? It doesn't feel like this. These are obvious issues that should have been fixed prior to release. Several of the issues I've raised on this thread should have been regarded as showstoppers. Not good enough.

Yeah I’ve got massive blank spots between comments where the ads would be. Verrrryy annoying for scrolling. Also going back to the thread list puts me at back to the top instead of back to where I left off.

So far I hate this. Am on PC, but the actual area where posts are displayed is about half the width of the screen. Could it be that the remaining blank bit will be populated with adverts in the near future?

It really is rubbish.

They won't revert it back to how it was. MSE didn't and the competitions page users mostly migrated to other sites.

You can change that easily in the “Customise” area. @Arianya

Agree with all the other posts but I must say I am irrationally annoyed that upon pressing my back button to return to the active page I find it has auto refreshed and I can't find where I was (also due to threads not changing colour).

I don't hate it as much as others but I do have a problem with how it looks on a laptop. A couple of inches of blank space to the left and about 6 inches of blank space to the right. and the actual content in a narrow column in the centre. Was the re-design made with only phones in mind?

My old format was OP - turquoise My replies - red Everyone else's replies - purple

Now everyone is red, including what I've written so it's very hard to follow.
All the threads that I've hidden have unhidden themselves. Annoying!

and if this is true, it won't work on me. I'd never pay for this (or any social media), no matter what.

@SillySallySassySausage This was the same for me this morning, but after I logged out & back in, it's now the same colour codes for me as before the upgrade

I was logged out overnight, but logged back in and changed my preferences for things like the colours and it was fine. Then I suspect some things were changed again because I was forcibly logged out, but now I’m back in (and have used the lovely ‘reject all’ cookies button) threads are changing colour when I’ve read them, and most things seems fine.

Here’s a tip which might help some people - I’ve worked out that if you’re watching a thread and want to go to a particular post, where you used to click on the user name to take you to that post, you just click the little arrow at the right margin instead and that takes you to that post (unless you have a bookmark on the thread, in which case it takes you there instead).

Bookmarks are not saving though

It just seems like it wasn't tested
