Just wondering. I received a private message and sent 2 replies and now the recipient has received a message from MNHQ saying the replies were removed at my request. Except that's not true, I made no such request.

I can see the benefits of both, especially regarding FWR on the other site, we're allowed to believe in biology.

Now this is something worth me signing up for.

GoatHat · 20/04/2020 12:08

'wasn't a huge deal but when you're dealing with life-changing things, deliberate unkindness stings even if it's about small stuff.'

So sorry Lawrence Flowers, the fake 'I'm sorry I'll edit in the morning' post was particularly unpleasant.

Anyone can post anywhere obviously, it does seem sly and underhand for the admin to have purposefully PM'd users here.

I've seen many deletions on there already and it's been what, a week? They're very trigger happy and are treating their users like school children. Wonder how long until someone says hang on a minute?!

They're all tip toeing about on their best behaviour at the moment. Makes you realise how good mnhq are at modding. It'll probably do MN good, people won't hang around there long.

OldRumbly · 20/04/2020 12:08

decent moderation that allows a reasonable discussion about why some posters are never called out, but it often deteriorated in to personal and false accusations.

Same happens there except the posts aren't allowed to see the light of day. You can't say anything like "Oi username, that's not on" because in house arguments mustn't be seen or had. You can indirectly have a go at people instead, as long it's not obvious. So some genuine frothers on that site have no idea what happens under their noses. Others just need something to froth over and Mumsnet is an easy target right now. Atleast here you can see what's happening and decide for yourself what to do. There, the nasty is on stealth mode.

OldRumbly · 20/04/2020 12:13

There are two or more separate threads and posts about the ignore button. What an invention😂

Chickpeees · 20/04/2020 12:40

OldRumbly

Admin was/is also part of reddit forum. Advertised her site there but no one gave a crap. She's allowed reddit bashing to stand cos she didnt get the following she wanted from there except a few trolls who've promised to be her spies. There was a lot of slagging off reddit posts among the MN threads but it's somehow magically stopped. Just a few mentions here and there now. Who knows what went on behind the scenes?

I noticed that? They said that people should not police what others post and yet they deleted the posts about Reddit. I doubt many will be happy that it’s something to do with that sub then as I saw a lot of very hurt recipients of their attacks on there obviously thinking it was a safe space of sorts.

OldRumbly · 20/04/2020 12:44

I agree.

Chickpeees · 20/04/2020 12:51

I am quite shocked actually, I need to get a life and do some washing or something.

OldRumbly · 20/04/2020 12:53

There's a post on their busiest forum (initially named AIBU but now changed), by some anon user, about revealing what's happening inside MNHQ. The anon user hasn't posted again since that OP. No replies or updates. Frothers paradise, that! Longest thread on the site, alongside other Mumsnet threads. It's either another approved fake thread designed to stir up traffic or there's a mole in MNHQ - I doubt this.

GoatHat · 20/04/2020 12:56

'You can't say anything like "Oi username, that's not on" because in house arguments mustn't be seen or had.'

And they think mnhq are heavy handed with deletions Grin

So it's like mn lite, only for sheep. No challenging of opinion is allowed, what a shame. Women must play nicely.

Maybe they should change the name to StepfordWives.Chat. I see they've changed the format so it isn't an exact replica, perhaps someone explained copyright to the admin.

OldRumbly · 20/04/2020 13:05

Exactly!

There were genuine posters who were making a bit of a fuss about steering away from any sort of Mumsnet 'inspiration' and forming their own culture. After being ignored by Admin for a long time, some did come up with some valid arguments and sources on copyright laws pertaining to the name, etc and that was it really.

BirchBark · 20/04/2020 13:20

'So it's like mn lite, only for sheep. No challenging of opinion is allowed, what a shame. Women must play nicely.'

Yes, I'm a sheep. We're all sheep Hmm

BakedCam · 20/04/2020 13:22

I've read this thread for days and I am seeing exactly what MN posters are accusing the other site of, here.

Shitty behaviour on both sides. Although I do agree that the posting of Lawrence's post was low. None of us know what is behind the keyboard. It isn't fair on Lawrence and the request to remove should have been adhered to.

In fact, it shouldn't have happened.

BirchBark · 20/04/2020 13:23

Oops, what I actually meant to say was 'baaaa'.

GoatHat · 20/04/2020 13:34

'There were genuine posters who were making a bit of a fuss about steering away from any sort of Mumsnet 'inspiration' and forming their own culture. '
It will be interesting to see what happens when they begin to disagree with each other. Mumsnetters historically aren't the sort to sit quietly and do as they're told.
It seems if the admin agree with an opinion then it's ok, so post after post about here and Justine stand, yet criticisms about Tattle or Reddit are deleted immediately. They even lock threads if the discussion wanders off topic! that isn't allowed apparently. Admin seem a bit power crazed.

Schuyler · 20/04/2020 13:38

I have no beef with the new site. There’s space on the internet for everyone. Let’s be honest though, there are hypocrites on there, as well as here. An example.....

People on the new site and MN have complained tattle is nasty because it discusses celebs and IG families, as if that’s never happened on MN Grin Grin and hasn’t already started on the new place?
The M&H royal threads have been particularly unpleasant, as have many of the threads about IG families such as; MOD.

OldRumbly · 20/04/2020 14:02

Also, I can still see Admin's advert posts on reddit. They may not be affiliated, in that they want the site to stand on it's own (and not be directly connected to Tattle) but they're members of both sites as well as Tattle mods. Which they can be, it's fine but they claim to be miles above Mumsnet both in business ethics and morals. Errr...not seeing it yet.

Chickpeees · 20/04/2020 14:04

Well if it’s the mod from Reddit then the site will be over soon enough. It’s a shame in a way as it was easy to use and follow.

OldRumbly · 20/04/2020 14:05

Dont think it's the mod from Reddit. Seems to be just a member - ex or current.

OldRumbly · 20/04/2020 14:16

From what I've seen, looks like some members were either banned from the Reddit Mumsnet forum or decided to break away to form an actual Anti-Mumsnet site. Their welcome thread on that site explains why it was formed.

Anonuser1 · 20/04/2020 14:19

That was her only post on Reddit. I think she just joined to spam it about her site.

GoatHat · 20/04/2020 14:19

'they're members of both sites as well as Tattle mods. Which they can be, it's fine'
Yes it is fine, I might join it later and see how long I manage not to disagree with anyone.
It is just they have sneering threads about here that they let stand (and even their admin join in with), yet critical threads or comments about Tattle go immediately. Consistency admin, next word to look up!

Chickpeees · 20/04/2020 14:24

She probably posted under a new account. It would be nice if they clarified.

LockedInMadness · 20/04/2020 14:29

For people who don't like the other site you seem to spend a lot of time there Grin

GoatHat · 20/04/2020 14:40

'For people who don't like the other site you seem to spend a lot of time there grin'
Yes the spamming worked, we looked! well done.
That's like me saying to them 'for people who don't like mn you seem to spend a lot of time here'. As they c&p every comment from this thread, even the admin!

OldRumbly · 20/04/2020 15:19

Oh and Admins read users PMs too and plant sock puppets or minions to have private conversation with genuine users. They're currently laughing about it on a thread...(ofcourse indirectly, as you do). Everything said here is verifiable. It's clear what that site really is. They really wanted a literal anti mumsnet site. Reddit magnified. Other genuine users are only fillers for their cult. Admin's been caught out here so probably thinks she might as well be more open about things and have a real go at users. Nothing to lose really.
