I know I've been away for a bit, but where did this come from in my absence??

tbh, I do find it a bit distasteful to have it there.

not wishing to be controversial at all. But v. curious.

And the Women's Institute.

JustineMumsnet · 22/06/2007 13:39

Hi Pan,
As has been said this topic is for partners of people in the forces - any forces - because they wanted somewhere to talk about specifics relevant to them. I think you're in the minority in your distaste tbh (apart from for the title of the topic but I don't think we've established a better alternative so until we do, Forces sweethearts it shall be).
MN Towers

Can the wabbit have her very own Naughty Navy heading? Oh go on...

Shoshable · 22/06/2007 13:44

ooohh will she be doing things over the yard arm

Scootergrrrl · 22/06/2007 13:45

Good grief I go away for a wander round pompey ( looking at all the big grey boats belonging to the Army )and he's still going on and on.

Pan · 22/06/2007 15:28

Well, this is all very interesting whilst I've been doing the shopping, the stairs and the cooker.........

Hello Justine, (my commanding officer, in these circs. dontcha know) - message understood.

" I think you're in the minority in your distaste tbh "....you know, you may be right!!

And to answer the other fan mail:

in no particular order....

my, you are an aggressive lot...where does that come from??..ah! yes, well...

mildmanneredjanitor - hmm......a deeply personal insult, which doesn't appear to have been considered worthy of rebuke as yet. How about if I was to make a swipe at your questionable credentials as a woman, eh? Of course I wouldn't, as I am civilised and rely on good debate and argument rather than trading insults, so you get my point??

and what's all this talk about "murderers"?? Is someone fessing up to something, as I haven't used that phrase....MB, are you saying that Belsen liberators were murderers?? And my "world" is far from black and white, so you look after yours and don't worry about mine,ok??

"get a life"...I have one thanks...IME this is usually said by peeps projecting their own insecurities.........

and me applying to join the "forces"...risible........

and I STILL don't see any poster starting a post with "Slaughtering families is consistent with Mumsnet values, because..."

Am not being unreasonable, or personal, unlike some posters here.

And let's not forget it is a "public" forum - if you post something, others may well disagree with you.

Right - offski again. If anyone wishes to ask me anything else about well, anything, ask away.

I shouldn't hold your breath.

madge7 · 22/06/2007 15:33

Pan, get your head out of your arse and smell the coffee will you.................FFS!!!!!

Scootergrrrl · 22/06/2007 15:35

Slaughtering families is consistent with Mumsnet values because if I say that Pan will bugger off and go away.
There you go - happy now?

Pan · 22/06/2007 15:36

Well, MB there was a veritable queue previously whilst I was away, asking about abortion of all things.

V. happy. to leave it here.

Infact, in view of the lack of a response to my intial, simple question, I will do!!

OP posts:
Desiderata · 22/06/2007 15:41

Great!

Pan · 22/06/2007 15:44

afternoon desi. Have you calmed down yet?? And, I am male, FWIW

OP posts:
jinxed · 22/06/2007 15:45

I really cant bring myself to respond.

I think I will have to leave this thread now on the basis that there wasnt really an opening question to be answered.

Scootergrrrl · 22/06/2007 15:53

Just out of interest, and not that I expect you to answer, but what does Mrs Pan do? Is it something we would all approve of?

DaddyJ · 22/06/2007 15:57

I was about to answer your initial question
but littlelapin has already done the honours:

Being a soldier does not equate to killing families.

Being a soldier's wife/partner does not equate to killing families.

No conflict with MN values here.

Pan · 22/06/2007 15:57

ah< mrs pan is actually unemployed>>>>>between jobs>>>>

right dinner time as it were

OP posts:
Scootergrrrl · 22/06/2007 16:21

And Mr Pan? What do you do that makes such a difference?

looneytune · 22/06/2007 17:00

Right, I am NOT in any way married to or related to anyone in the forces but I TOTALLY AGREE with the responses you received to your OP.

You say 'my, you are an aggressive lot...where does that come from??..ah! yes, well...' well now it's my turn, where do I get it from??????!!!

I think you are totally out of order for having a go at the PARTNERS/WIVES of people in the forces. I imagine all they want is a chat area for them to talk about things that they have in common - like we have an area for us CHILDMINDERS etc to talk - WTF is wrong with that???!!!

God knows why but you sound like you definitely got out of the bed the wrong side this morning!!!! I HATE people like you, i really do!! (i don't even need to meet you in RL to decide that!!)
