I know I've been away for a bit, but where did this come from in my absence??

tbh, I do find it a bit distasteful to have it there.

not wishing to be controversial at all. But v. curious.

I find your post distasteful.

Still, there's someone else on MN who thinks the army are all a bunch of terrorists, so why don't you go seek her out: start a little thread all of your own.

Pan, im sorry, but i dont think the forces section is there for debates on what is or isnt happening around the world.

For a lot of us, being attatched to the forces through love for a partner brings a lot of stresses and worries. Surely we have a right to find solidarity with others in the same position.

Surely not much different to ante-natal and post-natal groups on here who are experiencing the same things at the same times.

Pan · 22/06/2007 12:37

Desi!! I didn't say the army were terrorists????? At all.

just will re-state "Killing children, mothers and fathers is not very Mumsnetty". Infact, the total opposite.....

soooo why is it elevated to a 'special section'..on this site.....

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Pan · 22/06/2007 12:40

hmm..again..I haven't expressed one view about world events..just the practice of killing children, mothers and fathers not being very mumsnetty. Infact, it is the total opposite......

is anyone disagreeing with this??

OP posts:
jinxed · 22/06/2007 12:42

How is the Forces topic linked to killing children, mothers and fathers?

Desiderata · 22/06/2007 12:42

I Fucking totally disagree with you - but you ain't worth an argument.

Pan · 22/06/2007 12:44

because that is what armed forces do. Someone gives them money, and in return, they kill families. That is how it works.

not mumsnetty at all!!!

OP posts:
Pan · 22/06/2007 12:45

desi. Calm down and no need to swear at me!!

so you DO think killing families is consistent with mumsnet ideals??

OP posts:
jinxed · 22/06/2007 12:45

My husband gets paid to work as a chef, cook food.

He does not get paid to kill children, mothers or fathers.

What the armed forces do is as a result of being ORDERED to by the government - aim your anger at Tony Blair, not innocent wives/girlfriends nad partners who sometimes need an understanding ear when it comes to daily life in the forces.

Get a grip and move on. You are being very out of order.

Desiderata · 22/06/2007 12:46

Eff off!

PARP

Pan · 22/06/2007 12:49

jinxed..am not angry. at all. unlike desi who is about to erupt.

your husband then feeds the people who kill families.

OP posts:
Pan · 22/06/2007 12:50

I do have to move on, and do some housework...

would be still nice to have this total dichotomy explained, though.

OP posts:
jinxed · 22/06/2007 12:52

Pan, im sorry. I have reported this thread to MNHQ as I feel very upset by the fact you are implying our husbands/partners are murderers.

Very personal attack to make in my book.

great minds mildjanitor!

Pan · 22/06/2007 12:55

ooops??

not cruel or anything else.

So please someone explain the dichotomy??

you may not like it, but army personnel kill people. this is not news just in. Ok??

not meant to be offensive. j

Scootergrrrl · 22/06/2007 12:59

Fuck it - if no one else is going to respond properly then I will.
My husband went to Afghanistan and spent most of his time rebuilding a school and stopping the Taliban blowing up their own people.
It's because of people like him that idiots like you have the freedom to say such stupid things on public forums like this one.
And don't even get me started on the fact that your original post and subesuent pleas for an argument demonstrates why we should have a section of our own away from small-minded people like you who have no idea about anything.
We have enought to think about without wasting time on people like you.
There, now you've had your rise out of someone - go enjoy the rest of your day without worrying your husband will be shot.

Come on littlelapin, back me up on this!

jinxed · 22/06/2007 13:02

Well said scooter - what i wanted to say but didnt have the eloquence!

Pan · 22/06/2007 13:02

Scooter........thanks for that......

still no answer to the killing families thing, though.

I'll get on with a bit and see if anyone does show how killing families and mumsnet are consistent.

OP posts:
Shoshable · 22/06/2007 13:05

Pan I have also reported this thread.

It is NOT a political Thread, your political opinions are yours, thankfully not everybody has those opinions.

The thread is for the wives girlfriends and families waiting at home for the men that if the whole world goes mad, will fight for your freedom to say what you have.

Scootergrrrl · 22/06/2007 13:05

My husband doesn't kill families. End of debate.
Could everyone maybe agree to ignore this sad little person until she goes away and eventually she'll lose interest in bumping herself to the top of active convos time and again?

Scootergrrrl · 22/06/2007 13:07

Although I assume by saying our husbands' jobs are incompatiable with your every-so nice MN philosphy (cos you're such a lovely person aren't you?) you would be saying the littlelapin, who organised the Mile For Maude, shouldn't be on here because her husband is also one of us child-killers?
Nice one.
