Problem with read threads not changing colour...

Ok MN, so now you've fixed the problem with bookmarking Grin. For some time now, when I've read a thread, it temporarily changes colour, to show I've read it, then will change back to 'unread colour' at some point and then I'm reading a thread again that I'm not interested in because the title wasn't memorable enough for me to remember. First world problem, I know.... I'm using Chrome on laptop.

Reset again today

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 23/02/2018 16:13

I have this too, it marks read threads correctly on one device, but if I then log on on another it loses them.

mummabubs · 23/02/2018 20:07

And it's just done it.... again(!) :(

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 26/02/2018 22:08

I've been posting about this since October.

@OlympicBonfire which threads is this happening with?

SophieLMumsnet · 27/02/2018 09:28

Sorry, everyone! We know it's incredibly frustrating. We've just this moment nudged tech, so please do bear with us and we'll hopefully have them on the case this morning. Flowers

OlympicBonfire · 27/02/2018 11:16

Hi @TraceyTech

It's really random - it has happened to these 2 that I was reading yesterday which were blue again this morning (sorry I don't know how to do clicky)

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3179003-Aibu-to-think-that-my-mums-ring-should-be-mine

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3179482-to-bf-a-3-year-old

But ther are others that I was reading yesterday (like the very funny screaming at the Sistine Chapel one 😆) which is still showing as purple this morning

OlympicBonfire · 27/02/2018 11:17

Oh they are clicky - how clever 😆

TraceyTech · 27/02/2018 11:23

ok great thanks If you could add the link to the one that stayed as visited too? I am going to see if there's anything I can spot about that would make them behave differently

Panda81 · 27/02/2018 19:17

Hi don't know if it's helpful but my entire watch list has reset itself so all threads are showing as white - unread posts.

mummabubs · 27/02/2018 22:38

Yeah it's always my entire watch and on lists that reset and have done this intermittently since I joined Mumsnet a year ago so I don't know if it's something to do with specific threads as surely then only some of mine would reset?

TraceyTech · 28/02/2018 09:24

I cannot see anything about those threads that would make them become un-visited links.

ok so when you look in the history for the browser you are using can you find the links in there?

you can search for them in the search bar at the top of the history settings page. So for example to find this thread in your history you would just need to type something like "Threads not" and you should be able to find it in there.

NinaMarieP · 02/03/2018 04:47

And just over two weeks later it's all reset on me again.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 03/03/2018 16:13

Yes, it comes up in History Tracey.

All reset last night

MrTumblesSpottyHag · 09/03/2018 13:17

It keeps doing it in the app and it's really irritating. Especially when most thread titles are vague similar.

mummabubs · 10/03/2018 09:51

Completely agree @MrTumblesSpottyHag

NinaMarieP · 10/03/2018 21:17

I'm on my third reset since posting in this thread - Feb 18, March 2 and March 10.

FlissMumsnet · 11/03/2018 14:40

NinaMarieP that sounds really annoying - we're so sorry this keeps happening. We're struggling to understand why this is a sporadic problem but we'll send this one back to Tech and see if they can replicate this.

Sorry it's such a faff - we'll get this sorted for you all as soon as we can.

NinaMarieP · 11/03/2018 15:39

It is pretty annoying! I'm not meaning to be a moan about it though, just hoping that the information on when it happens can somehow help work out how/why it's happening.

fuzzyfozzy · 15/03/2018 10:35

And again

QueenCity · 15/03/2018 12:40

Happens constantly. All reset this morning,

NinaMarieP · 17/03/2018 11:55

And again for me...

DawnMumsnet · 17/03/2018 14:19

We know, we know. Sad

Our Tech team are on the case here, but they still haven't been able to establish what's causing this.

Huge apologies (again!) for all the frustration this is causing.
