Oops epic chromosome fail Grin. You'd never believe I have an a level in human biology

PassiveAgressiveQueen · 25/08/2016 21:12

I am a passive sparticus, i am a woman because i was born with a vagina, not because of my personality.

AlistairSim · 25/08/2016 21:12

What they all said far more eloquently than I ever could.

FRETGNIKCUF · 25/08/2016 21:12

There's no such thing as a female penis.

Paris Lees is a man impersonating a woman, he also says being catcalled is empowering for women.

I'm royally fucked off with men impersonating women picking up or being nominated for women's positions and awards. They do not, should not and cannot represent us. They are not women and never will be.

I'm pissed off with transwomen telling me they're more beautiful, more feminine, more nurturing, more special, than women.

I'm tired of men leaving their wives and kids, or worse staying, to become women and being called brave. Coercing their families to validate their identities and often being extraordinarily abusive.

I'm tired of girls and women being labelled bigots if they don't want to share a toilet, dressing room, changing room or dorm with males.

I am fucking Spartacus and I rage.

JinkxMonsoon · 25/08/2016 21:14

I am Spartacus.

Autogynephila is real. I know one. Came out as trans, but maintains the same ultra masculine hobbies and makes misogynistic jokes on FB. Always banging on about how "she" hates children. "No womb no gloom". Fuck off. You're not one of us. You hate women.

MargaretRiver · 25/08/2016 21:14

I am Margaret
The emperor has no clothes

I respect transpeople and will used their preferred pronouns but I do not believe that clothes , hair , makeup , hormones or surgery can ever alter a persons sex.

Everything I have read about the transactivists above sounds like they hate women ( especially lesbians) and want to take away our rights & spaces

And they are not women.

derxa · 25/08/2016 21:14

Teaching children that there is right and a wrong way to be for their biological sex and that they can "change sex" by taking puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones is wrong. This is the crux for me. We must not encourage children to hate or mutilate their bodies.

Blackberryandapplejam · 25/08/2016 21:15

A thread of agreement. What a good thing.

Biology is biology. To believe anything other than the facts is as harmful as believing that the earth is flat, or believing in creationism.

JinkxMonsoon · 25/08/2016 21:15

I'm now wondering whether "misogynistic" is a word, because it looks wrong.

DianaTrent · 25/08/2016 21:16

A female cannot become male, nor a male female. There is no such thing as a female brain in any other sense than the brain from a body of the sex capable of producing ova. Gender stereotypes do not override biology. I am not male despite being stereotypically masculine in my interests. Trans people are just as good as everyone else and should be free to live their lives free of bullying, violence and discrimination the same as everyone else, just because they're fully human, and we shouldn't have to pretend that they are exactly the same as members of the opposite sex or that a penis can be a female sex organ to afford them those rights. I wouldn't use the opposite pronouns for a transitioning/transitioned trans person, but I'm not ever going to start calling men who don't have any kind of medical transition and don't dress in feminine clothing 'she', 'woman' or 'female' just because they say they're a woman. Nor am I going to start using non-binary pronouns like 'xir'. Gender is a harmful social construct which I'm not going to affirm just because I'm threatened with banning / silencing.

Roseformeplease · 25/08/2016 21:16

I am Rose.

I am with Spartacus.

MrsHathaway · 25/08/2016 21:17

Spartacus Hathaway

Expecting us to observe male privilege in women's safe spaces is an absurdity.

I respect individuals' preferred pronouns and proper nouns. I reject the prefix cis- in reference to me personally and to women in general, although I accept individuals' use of it for themselves. However in practice I rarely see anyone discussing trans* issues who fully accepts the concept of a gender binary unless male and hey there's that make privilege again.

I believe MNHQ is shutting down genuine gender critical debate by treating any post questioning current politically accepted viewpoint the same as obviously offensive "man in frock" posts.

My entire understanding of womanhood (that is, XX-chromosome/ovary-/uterus-/vagina-/vulva-owning) is being challenged by doublethink, and I agree that a lot of the new debate reduces a woman to a life-support system for a penis receptacle. I don't think I'm wrong to consider half the population more than that.

Cotton ceiling is new to me tonight and I'm appalled.

If this is worthy of a ban then MNHQ would be doing be a favour to apply the hammer.

Awesome thread. Bravo OP.

onahorsewithnoname · 25/08/2016 21:18

Oh and transing children IS child abuse

fionatalbot · 25/08/2016 21:18

I am Fiona. Don't let the misogynistic trans politickers stifle our freedom of speech and erode our rights. Of course, there is no such thing as a 'lady penis' and the living Ada Wells is a man.

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 25/08/2016 21:19

I am Spartacus. I believe gender is about as real and as relevant as astrology. It is a made up thing that forces people into boxes they may or may not fit into.

I fully support anyone who chooses to climb out of the gender box assigned to them, up to and including people who choose to live according to the gender conventions assigned to the opposite sex. However, I can not go along with the idea that anyone can change sex, it's just not medically possible and to insist that it is is as ridiculous as suggesting that human beings are, in some way, governed by the stars.

PlonitbatPlonit · 25/08/2016 21:19

I am spartacus. What she (plural) said....

WhatTheActualFugg · 25/08/2016 21:19

My DS identifies as a cat. He will not be receiving fur implants or cat hormones. Because he is a boy.

My DD identifies as a fairy. She will not be reviving wing implants or fairy hormones. Because she is a girl.

(Just to highlight the ridiculousness of it all. And a lame attempt at managing my anger!)

Justwanttoweeinpeace · 25/08/2016 21:22

I am justwanttoweeinpeace.

Penis = Man

Vagina = Woman

How you choose to decorate your body is your business and no one else's, no one should be discriminated or attacked because of their choices. But the above still stands.

Toooldtobearsed · 25/08/2016 21:22

For everytging that everyone has said, I am Spartacus

Bardolino · 25/08/2016 21:22

I am Bardolino. I am a woman, a feminist and a mother.

I respect people's rights to live as they choose, call themselves what they want and wear what they want - as long as they do not harm others or allow harm to come to others.

Man and Woman are biological classifications: men cannot become women and women cannot become men. Insisting that men can become women will result in harm to women.

Men make the moral code and they expect women to accept it. They have decided that it is entirely right and proper for men to fight for their liberties and their rights, but that it is not right and proper for women to fight for theirs. Emmeline Pankhurst

ByAndByTheWay · 25/08/2016 21:24

I am Byandbytheway and I am not a cis woman.
I believe in the right to state scientific fact. I am not prepared to stand by and watch women's rights eroded and their voices silenced.
I stand with everyone else on this thread and support their posts.
I am increasingly angry and concerned about this issue and I am incredibly disappointed that Mumsnet is putting the rights of men over the rights of women.

Northernlurker · 25/08/2016 21:24

I am Northernlurker. A woman cannot become a man, a man cannot become a woman.

MagnumPieEye · 25/08/2016 21:25
