Teaching children that there is right and a wrong way to be for their biogical sex and that they can "change sex" by taking puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones is wrong.

MummyTheTramEngine · 25/08/2016 20:00

I agree.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 25/08/2016 20:01

I am Anne.

I believe in biology.

I believe stating scientific facts is not phobic.

HumphreyCobblers · 25/08/2016 20:02

I am entirely in agreement with everyone on this thread. I would be gutted to be banned from Mumsnet but it is important to say that gender is a social construct, that people cannot change sex and that I am not a bigot because I believe this.

There really is no such thing as a female penis.

inaclearingstandsaboxer · 25/08/2016 20:05

I am inaclearing

I agree with all the above

HornyTortoise · 25/08/2016 20:05

There is no such thing as a female penis. It does not exist. A person who is in possession of a penis is a male

NormaStanleyFletcher · 25/08/2016 20:09

I am NormaStanleyFletcher.

There is no such thing as a lesbians with a penis.

There is no such thing as a woman with a penis.

You are not assigned sex at birth, you HAVE a sex at birth.

Gender is a social construct.

A man cannot become a woman, and a woman cannot become a man.

jaws5 · 25/08/2016 20:15

I am jaws and I believe in scientific facts.
Lesbian with penises don't exist
Women with penises don't exist
Trans women are not women
There's no such thing as "having a penis and a girl brain"
Children being offered hormones in order to change their gender is wrong
The "cotton ceiling" is a misogynistic term and should be seen as such

Lilicat1013 · 25/08/2016 20:16

I am Lilicat, I believe that people can call themselves what the choose to, dress as they choose to and present themselves as they choose to. They cannot however change biological sex, no matter how they dress, what medications they take or what surgeries they have.

I believe gender is a social construct which harms everyone but especially women. I believe shutting down these discussions harms women. I believe that the pretense transwomen are women harms women.

My eyes were opened to the trans issue by reading Mumsnet, I want these discussions to stand so others have the same opportunity.

LineyReborn · 25/08/2016 20:16

I don't believe that a penis can be female.

FlappyRose · 25/08/2016 20:18

I am flappy and I agree. Transwomen are not women and transmen are not men.

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 25/08/2016 20:20

Add me to the list too, HQ. If you ban these posters, you can ban me too. My husband says I spend far too much time on here as it is - I'm damned if I will be part of mumsnet if you ban women for saying these things.

TrionicLettuce · 25/08/2016 20:20

I am Trionic.

I will refer to men and boys (individuals of the male sex, as defined by their primary and secondary sexual characteristics) as "he".

I will refer to women and girls (individuals of the female sex, as defined by their primary and secondary sexual characteristics) as "she".

There is no such thing as a "female penis". Men cannot menstruate or give birth. A man cannot become a woman. Stating these things is not transphobic, it is scientific fact.

If stating scientific facts is a bannable offence on MN then I am happy to be banned, along with the rest of the posters on this thread.

PoisonWitch · 25/08/2016 20:21

I would also be very very sad to be banned. I've been here a long time and try to be a respectful, helpful poster. I've never attacked anyone on here. I do however think its utterly vital that we be able to speak truth here. It's one of the few mainstream places women can still talk to each other about being women and all that entails without being shut down. We cannot lose that.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 25/08/2016 20:22

Do you know what? It's quite tragic that arguably the biggest site for women, doesn't represent women on this issue. We are swept aside.

There are no female penis'. There are no lesbians with penis'. Transwomen are not women, transmen are not men.

I will be respectful towards anyone, I have no problem with transmen or transwomen. I have a big problem with the damage that these 'new concepts' do towards women, though, and the fact that censorship means we can do nothing about it.

I am not a bigot and I'd be gutted to lose MN, but sometimes people have to make a stand for the greater good.

bakeoffcake · 25/08/2016 20:23

I belive that any person can dress as they wish and say they 'identify' with whatever they like.

But being born a male, putting a dress on and saying you are a woman does NOT make you a woman and I will never accept that they are a woman.

WaitrosePigeon · 25/08/2016 20:24

I identify as a cabbage. Please call me a cabbage.

NatashaGurdin · 25/08/2016 20:24

I am NatashaGurdin and I do not post on here regularly but I feel very strongly about this:

I do not believe in the existence of gender, it is purely a social construct that differs according to time period and region of the world and is used to control the female sex.

There are only two sexes, there are females who are commonly referred to as women who have the potential to bear children and there are males who are commonly referred to as men who have the potential to father children. Intersex people are biological variations on the two sexes and can often although not always be infertile depending on the type of intersex condition they have. They do not represent another sex.

Transwomen are not women they are transwomen.
Transmen are not men they are transmen.

The English language has female and male personal pronouns and unlike some other languages does not lend itself easily to the idea of a neutral personal pronoun.

Sex is not interchangeable with gender. Gender is not a polite word for sex. There is no such thing as a female penis, anyone who has a penis is male.

Lesbians are women who are attracted to the same sex and therefore they should not be expected to have sex with men and should not be called insulting names because of that refusal to do so.

PageStillNotFound404 · 25/08/2016 20:25

I am Page.

Women do not have penises.

Women cannot rape other people with their penises, because women don't have penises.

A person with a penis who wants to have sex with women is a straight man. Not a lesbian.

A person with a penis is a man.

I respect the right of anyone to live their lives free from oppression, discrimination and hatred. That includes women.

Calling a male person with a penis "a man" is not an expression of oppression, discrimination or hatred. It is an expression of biological truth.

WombOfOnesOwn · 25/08/2016 20:26

I am Womb. I named myself here after an organ I possess, an organ that has in many ways dictated to me the terms of my life, an organ I have felt a child grow in and be removed from, an organ I have had mild prolapse in.

Women are born with wombs and XX chromosomes. Men are born with testes and XY chromosomes. No one who is born a "he" can become a "she" with currently available technology or anything likely to be produced in the near future.

FreshwaterSelkie · 25/08/2016 20:28

I'm spartacus. There's no such thing as a female penis. Misogyny and homophobia don't get a free pass if they're wearing a dress.

If you want to find out who's in charge, find out who you're not allowed to criticise. Cui bono, Mumsnet? Who wins when women are silenced?

OfCrayonBorn · 25/08/2016 20:31

I am Spartacus

Men cannot become women
