The great emoji debate

Afternoon everyone,

So: emojis. We've had a few questions about these over the last few days. Some of you love them and some of you loathe them. The truth of the matter is that they came into being as a side-effect of a technical fix that we did; we didn't set out to introduce them (and in fact, didn't expect you to discover them quite as quickly as you did ). On the question of whether they stay or whether they go, it's really up to you lot. We can get rid of them again; equally, if you like having them, we're happy for them to stay. Over to you ...

I don't really understand using emojis that not all can see.

Dear God! I wander up the Co Op for a few supplies, come back and the emoji's have got even bigger! What is happening? I don't like it. I'm scared 😢

I have to keep looking on my phone to see what the emoji is. Brand's is blowing a kiss. On my laptop it looks like a microscopic head being sick.

At least the emojis show up on TIO. MN's own smileys don't, which means that some posts seem odd until you open the thread.

I think it will be fine when they are no longer a novelty.

I have noticed on my phone that MN have messed with the 'watching' symbol. No longer a torch it resembles some type of probe.

More like a wand to me.

I really don't like them, I think they looks cheap, and the limited emojis that are available through mn do the job perfectly well.

We will have a like button next at this rate....
