Do you really think Obama has his own twitter that openly?

If I was really well known/famous I'd have fake names for social media so that I could have a 'normal' account with my actual friends on my friend list and people would be none the wiser. I bet Obama has a John Smith-type Twitter account for personal use.

Hah! In the current climate, I'd actually bet that Obama has no personal live account of any description whatsoever and just reads old books from his personal collection!

I imagine him to be more of a Pinterest person.

Or possibly Quora.

My guess is that Obama has no social media, but may have a twitter account set up in someone else's name and which never tweets, but just following stuff he might find interesting to read on the loo!

Tired the account belongs to a female, not a Dad. She's the "Deputy and Online Editor of Civil Service World" - easily identifiable by googling the twitter handle. The Twitter account is still listed under her name in a directory of politics journalists - I'm amazed it hasn't been deleted/blocked yet since he's so open about having "jacked" it. Maybe she's been on holiday for the last couple of weeks and has no idea?

And of course Jeffrey/Simon reads every word that is posted about him here - he craves our attention, just like a tantrumming toddler.

What's happened to the mobile app?????? I can't access mumsnet that way anymore....Just says connection failed. I'm really missing mumsnet :(

The mobile app has been taken down because it represents a security threat during 'hackergate'. Haven't you read any of the threads about it?!

That seems to be the error message that appears, wheelycote - and I agree that it's not wildly explanatory. Some people have thought that their internet was playing up even. (Rather than the App itself.)

There should be a whole new App coming at us in a few weeks - there are threads about it on the board.

I just Googled the Civil Service World twitter accounts (I have a contact there) and they look fine, plus the deputy and online editor at the moment is a man. Does the Twitter account in question belong to an ex-employee perhaps?

I wouldn't worry too much about the ownership of that Twitter account, IrenetheQuaint. One of those things, I guess.

Yes, I suspect an ex employee. She tweeted regularly then stopped suddenly about a year ago.

I've been told on this thread there's a new app coming.
But no, I didn't read it elsewhere because Jeffrey has broken me
I refuse to use desktop site or mobile site (apart from now) on the mobile because I don't like either. Plus i have to log in every bloody time, type name and password in..i don't have patience for that.
