Glad your back ...I've not being able to procrastinate ....actually had to do things....I'm not happy and neither are
DP - I've been cleaning ...means I will now get twitchy about mess ...and go round saying things like 'we just have to keep on top of it' - even worse I've been talking to him ...
DCs - for above and also I've shown an interest in their school and home work...
Poor cat - I actually got round to giving it a worming tablet ...
Even the spiders are furious ...all those months making webs and I destroyed them in seconds (and I may have hoovered a small spider up by accident Sad - sorry!)
Don't ever do that to me again ...

fourquenelles · 25/08/2015 14:19

I was half way up a Welsh mountain at a festival over the weekend thinking "I wonder what MN would make of all this non parenting parenting" and I had no-one to ask about that or, indeed, how often one should change the display bedroom bedding.

Cheesybaps · 25/08/2015 14:20

Thanks Aramynta - deleting history/cookies etc has made it a lot smoother for me Smile

TheTravellingLemon · 25/08/2015 14:21

StephanieBeacham it was what someone suggested we call Gransnet over at Gransnet Grin.

Hoorah!

I got back in, tried to post, but it just greyed out the boxes and then sat on its haunches saying "where's my chicken?" (figuratively speaking), so I wandered off for 20 minutes, came back and I got this scary page instead

IndridCold · 25/08/2015 14:25

Thanks Kate, got your message OK and stopped panicking now Smile!

Jux · 25/08/2015 14:26

oh I can't post the pic, it's on the other device! Blush

StephanieBeacham · 25/08/2015 14:27

Thanks TTL Grin sounds about right!

Icimoi · 25/08/2015 14:27

Talking of emoticons, I think we should have that one waving a white flag. It could be a recognised symbol on AIBU to tell everyone the OP accepts SIBU and to stop kicking.

HackerFucker22 · 25/08/2015 14:29

So what happened this time MNHQ?

RebeccaMumsnet · 25/08/2015 14:31

Our FAQ page is here with updates.

Justine has said on the other thread:

Yesterday evening we were hit by another denial of service attack which meant we offline until this morning; as soon as we got back up we were attacked again. This attack was double the size of the previous one and was distributed across many servers but we have no reason to believe that any security breaches occurred, the intention was to take the site offline rather than to hack into it.

We are contracting external DDoS protection providers to help deal with future issues. Many thanks for your understanding - apologies again for the interruption to normal service.

The police are continuing their investigation.

Hello again,
Here's the latest update on what's occurred.

Icimoi · 25/08/2015 14:34

There's going to be quite a population boom in 9 months' time, isn't there?

HackerFucker22 · 25/08/2015 14:35

Just read the update. Hope it's all sorted.

Sounds like someone (or some persons) really has it is for MN though.

noblegiraffe · 25/08/2015 14:35

What about what happened on Twitter?

HelenaDove · 25/08/2015 14:37

Can i ask if anyone in the know on police matters knows or can guess why its taking so long to find him? Not being facetious honestly.

Hes made hoax calls I thought that was something they could trace fairly quickly these days.

SheWhoDaresGins · 25/08/2015 14:39

I've had to amuse, AMUSE my child!!! It involved Lego and everyfing! Shock

Still, sounds a lot less scary than t'other forum!!

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 25/08/2015 14:45

I'm guessing he is overseas which complicates things in itself. Plus it is very easy to hide online.

Cheap unregistered PAYG? Throwaway skype account? Or super retro and use a public telephone box.

(Not police)

StephanieBeacham · 25/08/2015 14:45

what do you mean about twitter, NobleGiraffe>?

Pipbin · 25/08/2015 14:47

There's going to be quite a population boom in 9 months' time, isn't there?

I only talked to him.

HelenaDove · 25/08/2015 14:50

Thanks Fine I didnt think it through properly Thanks

noblegiraffe · 25/08/2015 14:51

On Twitter last night the hacker account tweeted a rude comment about a MNetter who had posted a supportive comment to the @mumsnettowers account. He said that he had been through her personal details on Twitter and knew her address. Clearly a threat given the swatting attacks.

The hacker account was deleted from Twitter shortly afterwards.

People should be aware that the tweets to MNHQ are being read with possible sinister intent.
