binary Grin

Pipbin · 25/08/2015 13:50

Love it 001. Were the grans welcoming? Did they give you a cup of tea and some cake?

AllThatGlistensIs · 25/08/2015 13:51
Shock

How come they get the good China???

I want a rooster and some Denby at least, restore the balance. And a vat of gin emoticon, thank ye kindly.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 25/08/2015 13:52

00100001 Shock

StatisticallyChallenged · 25/08/2015 13:53

Ah, that's better. I had to actually talk to dh-don't do that to me.

Couldn't face the sparkly tickers though.

Gruntfuttock · 25/08/2015 13:53

I joined Gransnet too. I don't expect MN to be up for long. I think the DDOS attacks are going to keep coming. Mind you, I'm not known for my optimistic nature.

AllThatGlistensIs · 25/08/2015 13:56

I'm with you Grunt, I don't expect it will all be over yet. Bloody hope so though, ye gods it was all just so.. banal out there.

StrangeLookingParasite · 25/08/2015 13:56

jumps around in small circles like an over-excited terrier

You'rebackYou'rebackYou'reback!

Yay.

Aramynta · 25/08/2015 13:57

WHY DO THEY GET THE FINE CHINA Envy Angry

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 25/08/2015 13:59

There are ways of fending off DDOS attacks, but they cost, so I guess Mumsnet will have to do a bit of a cost benefit analysis...

LittleRedRidingHoodie1 · 25/08/2015 13:59

Finally! I actually had a mini clear out because it's bin day tomorrow. Fucking bin day! Now I know why all the elderly neighbours are so obsessed with Bin Day- they don't go on Mumsnet. Fuck you Bin Day.

Aramynta · 25/08/2015 14:00

Maid and Everyone else having trouble

I cleared my cache and cookies which seems to have remedied the refreshing issue for me. It might be coincidental , but worth a go!

I guess its t'net version of "Have you tried switching it off and back on again?".

StephanieBeacham · 25/08/2015 14:01

is that a cooked chicken?

Hmm

could we have, you know, an alive one?? We've been wanting one for some time over on keepers.

I thank you

Pipbin · 25/08/2015 14:01

Still no official word.
Do I need to change my password?

HelenaDove · 25/08/2015 14:02

Getting blank page intermittently here too. Well done though MNHQ You must be cream crackered.

StephanieBeacham · 25/08/2015 14:02

It probably isn't even jeff any more. It's probably an overexcited robot in Swaziland that he's wound up and pointed at our server and having messed with the big boys, he now cannot get them to stop. Even if he wants to.

Kickedinthetits · 25/08/2015 14:03

Update from Justine on the technical thread.

DH reckons this site will end up as subscription only to cover it.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 25/08/2015 14:05

Pipbin

It was just a DOS attack apparently according to Justine.
Annoying but pretty harmless where data is concerned, it basically just overloads the servers with massive amounts of traffic.

Atomik · 25/08/2015 14:05

00100001

Well that's not fair. We get Jeffrey and they get a chicken emoticon.

But at least I know where I am heading next time.

MaidOfStars · 25/08/2015 14:05

Ah, but how many meals can they get out of that chicken?

TheTravellingLemon · 25/08/2015 14:08

I also visited the wise place, it was nice. My posts came up in dark blue, which made me feel like a member of MNHQ and I even posted on other threads Smile. It was like a relaxing holiday.

KateSMumsnet · 25/08/2015 14:08

@IndridCold

No date, arrived yesterday early evening, exactly the same as the last one, from contactus@mumsnet.

It also has a user name at the top, but it isn't mine.

Hullo Indrid - fret not, this is something completely unrelated to the hacking. We'll reply to your report to explain in further detail.

catsrus · 25/08/2015 14:10

well NM reminded me of NCT coffee mornings, with two toddlers, in identikit houses with cream carpets and glass fronted cabinets ... not for me huns Grin.

Gransnet, OTOH, was lovely, one day I will join them for tea in their nice china cups Envy but I'm not ready for daily newletters with the title "How to deal with neck wrinkles" seriously - it's just popped into the inbox 10 mins ago "how to tackle turkey neck" it says Shock - down the list is a bit more promising "dirty old men" being a top thread Grin

StephanieBeacham · 25/08/2015 14:10

what's the wise place might I ask?
