Louise I think you'll be fine. You really don't need to worry to that extent because you've been on his website. Loads of us have.

iamaboveandBeyond · 22/08/2015 12:02

Worra, i have no issue with people posting issues here, im not the thread police and telling people not to post issues on an issues thread would be rathr controlling and, well, weird Grin

All i'm saying is that cryptic messages are not helpful for some posters. You know, trying to make life easier for them, as hq always say? I'd guess they arent actually that helpful to hq either as they dont know what they are responding to? And if people are writing whatever just to report it and write their issue in the report, it still doesnt need the "omg, something is wrong" post. If something in particular is wrong, surely its easier for hq for people to say what? I've had two things that i've reported over to hq that i wouldnt have thought of if i hadnt seen others with similar problems.

But, like i said, not the thread police. Just thought it would be helpful for people to think of how others could be concerned by their posts, when they contain unknown evils.

Thanks Arkkorox I never usually click links but I wanted to see if my password was listed I believe something downloads if you are being keylogged anyway

WorraLiberty · 22/08/2015 12:05

No, actually you're right iamaboveandBeyond. That sort of thing will panic people when you put it like that.

Plus I'm a nosey fucker and I'd want to know what the problem is Blush Grin

His site does leave a cookie so you might want to clear cookies if you've been on it.

catsrus · 22/08/2015 12:31

Actually the cookie I found might have been put there during the original phishing trip when he caught me....

Simurgh · 22/08/2015 12:42

I would agree with that, iamaboveandbeyond. Cryptic comments are unnecessary and potentially panic-making. There are reporting methods available if someone has an urgent issue to raise.

SilverBirchWithout · 22/08/2015 13:03

I personally thinking focussing whether someone is on or not on The List is not that important.

The List was published by the hackers to prove they had mined data, but my suspicious mind tells me that it is also a useful misdirecting tactic. They may (or may not) have acquired more useful data, email addresses, postcodes, real names, DOBs from those of us who had foolishly (me too, I am afraid) given this info when originally signing up.

It would be sensible for everyone to change passwords and increase their security on any other site they use, as potentially any of our MNs data could be in the hands of others by now.

I'm not trying to cause any unnecessary anxiety, but thought it was worth pointing out The List is likely being used to misdirect us all.

FuckOffJeffrey · 22/08/2015 13:05

Are we aware of this fake pop up NMHQ?

I just had to log back in after doing cookie wipe on my phone and when I clicked on talk this appeared. I obviously didn't click on it.

Oh I had that fuckoffjeffrey. Didn't realise it was fake!

FuckOffJeffrey · 22/08/2015 13:14

Sorry last post should say MNHQ not NMHQ. Blush

I'm assuming it's fake Devilishpyjamas as I was already logged in when it appeared asking me to log in and Mumsnet don't give out 'extra goodies' for clicking on a pop up.

ChristineDePisan · 22/08/2015 13:15

May or may not be related, but at the moment every time I click on a new page I get a security pop up saying that only secure content is being shown, do I want to show all content (of course I am saying no!). I've only have had this v v sporadically on MN before - usually when one of the side bar ads hits a trigger - never with every single page.

Devilishpyjamas · 22/08/2015 13:19

'Extra goodies' made my teeth itch, but I only noticed it in yours.

TodayIHaveMyHaircut · 22/08/2015 13:19

I'm locked out of my old name and account!

I wasn't on the list. I have reset my password (after the first forced one) and when I was booted out for the next forced one, I didn't bother. I just lurked, thinking once all of this has blown over, I'll come back.

However, I want to delete PMs, so today I thought I'd log in to do that and change the email account I use for MN. I couldn't use the new password, kept just getting an error message, so I asked for a reset. Which I did and it STILL won't let me in. So I've created a new account with this name just to post here. I have emailed, but I'm guessing there are loads of emails for HQ to trawl through. Trouble is, I have now used a new email for this account...and this was the email I wanted attached to my old account. Is this possible?

I got that a couple days ago fuckoffjeffrey I think I cleared cookies on my phone sometime since and haven't seen it anymore.

FuckOffJeffrey · 22/08/2015 13:22

I have literally just cleared cookies and this happened when I logged back in (kicked out due to cookie clear) I haven't had this pop up before now.

So are MNHQ going to own up to using the dreadful 'extra goodies' or will they pretend it was Jeffrey even if it wasn't?? Grin

Rarity08 · 22/08/2015 13:26

Bonjour, I shall say this only once, Fuck off Jeff!

Simurgh · 22/08/2015 13:29

If you've emailed to explain, Today, they should sort things out for you - although it may not be in the next 5 minutes given the pressure at the moment. Have you already changed passwords etc on other accounts if they were the same as your MN one? (That's just good practice anyway.)

lavent · 22/08/2015 13:31

I've also had that pop up after clearing cookies - could MNHQ please confirm if it's real or not?
