Can someone pls link to the list so I can check my name? I'm travelling and I haven't been able to check on things till now. Thank you.

scatterthenuns · 21/08/2015 23:26

Phew! Cheers! Grin

YetAnotherHelenMumsnet · 21/08/2015 23:27

Flagging Tesco to Tech now (although of course they're all over this thread but just as belt and braces...)

ToTheGups · 21/08/2015 23:28

Well this is like a mosquito really, bloody irritating and won't go away.

LimeJellyforBrains · 21/08/2015 23:28

Pipbin wow, that's impressive!

Zing I can't tell you how apt your misspelling of Grauniad is and how much it made me Smile. Look up Grauniad in the Urban Dictionary.

BoffinMum · 21/08/2015 23:29

This is why MN should run on RISC OS computers. Wink

wannaBe · 21/08/2015 23:29

it's worth remembering that email accounts and fb are hacked all the time. think I've seen about ten of my friends on fb have their accounts hacked this week and none of them are mn'ers afaik. Usually it happens when people fill in those quiz's which request access to your fb and bingo.

also re the attempts on guinea pig forums and the like, I would imagine that this too is a coincidence given that any hacker won't have spent the time looking for tiny forums to try out just in case...

Simurgh · 21/08/2015 23:31

Out of interest YetAnotherHelen - I take it that Tech and other HQ staff are keeping an eye on failed access attempts to accounts? I understand completely if that's a TSSDNCOP but is there anything we need to be aware of in that regard? (eg mails from HQ etc.)

Dothetwist · 21/08/2015 23:31

Someone has posted on Facebook that Rebecca has been hacked.

Please everyone go and check the security settings and privacy of your facebooks. I just searched for a few people i know work for mumsnet and their profiles are completely public with locations / status and photos!!

COME ON PEOPLE PROTECT YOURSELVES!!

ToTheGups · 21/08/2015 23:32

My test app is fine but I just nearly booked a delivery of one packet of asparagus just to test it out.

tigerscameatnight · 21/08/2015 23:38

my mumsnetter friend has disappeared off Facebook tonight Sad

G1veMeStrength · 21/08/2015 23:38

It's not a problem that is related to our current fandango

I think there's a cream for that.

wannaBe · 21/08/2015 23:38

it never ceases to amaze me how many people have public fb profiles. Have been looking at fb for other reasons tonight and the amount of people I can see who have all their details public is astounding. and who check in at their home address. Shock

I think it's time to consider whether it would be circumspect to wipe everything on certain boards, like Relationships. There's too much sensitive stuff on them for my liking.

FuckOffJeffrey · 21/08/2015 23:42

ToTheGups Your right but when eventually squish them it's such a great feeling much like this will be when the sad little boys get caught

SzeliSecond · 21/08/2015 23:44

Had to completely reregister as there was no getting into my old account at all. is there an opportunity to merge the two accounts?

ToTheGups · 21/08/2015 23:44

Very true FuckOff here's to a very big slap.

wannaBe · 21/08/2015 23:45

but there has always been sensitive stuff on relationships. People are always being told they should only share what they can afford to. Seriously talking about wiping boards etc is unnecessary and as someone has already pointed out, deleting threads from mn doesn't delete them from the internet as they will already have been cashed

StrattersDairyProductPervert · 21/08/2015 23:49

I don't think all are cached, though. Still think it's worth considering, people do post sensitive stuff in the heat of the moment.

Rainbow

Did you actually log out of your account on the App? (If you're talking about the current version and not the one under testing.) It seems to need you to do that formally before you do anything else.

wannaBe · 21/08/2015 23:52

and tbh it's not the information the hacker wants, maybe the data, but it's highly unlikely that someone is going to go trawling through all the posts of those who they have hacked just to see what information is out there about them. For one there would be no way of knowing which posters had sensitive information linked to their usernames and which didn't. If posters have identifyable information about themselves on here then that information is identifyable regardless of whether a hacker has now got hold of their email address and username (and bear in mind that not all the email addresses were published).

JeffreyNeedsAHobby · 21/08/2015 23:52

Actually I think that is a good thing - FB bods will have to sit up and listen now and do their own detective work. More time on the sentence in the clink.

I think Jeffrey may be getting a little bit too greedy

TiredButFineODFOJ · 21/08/2015 23:53

I'm too tired now. Night night mner's, night night poo poo face Jeffrey, night night twunts coming over to look at mumsnet and misinterpreting AIBU like when someone thinks the Daily Mash is serious news
Wine and Brew to all at MNHQ dealing with this crap
