Would you like to test an early version of our Talk app?

Hello,
We've been working on a test version of a new Talk app and could do with your help putting it through it's paces.

If you have an iPhone with iOS8 (sorry no iPods, iPads or android for now) and you'd like a sneak preview then head on over to this sign up page and sign up so we can send you an invite (it doesn't have to be your Mumsnet email address just one you can access).

The app is very much a beta version and everything may not work perfectly. If you find something that's broken or think there is something missing, please let us know.

Ideally we'd like you to use the app to read and post on threads and do whatever you normally do in Talk. Please note, this version of the app is LIVE and anything you post will appear on the Mumsnet site for all to see.

At the mo this is for registered mumsnetters only so if you can't see the sign up page please check you are logged in.

Some lighter brighter colour options would be great - bright green, orange, yellow?

I can see photos - brilliant!
However I can't bookmark posts, I've tried clicking everywhere but to no avail...

Also someone earlier on has withdrawn their post but I can will see the photo of them. I would go back up to check their username but i think I might lose this post if i do that

TIO is now very random on mine. Not in order of old to new or vice versa.

Some of them have a white number count and some a blue - don't know the significance of that ?

Badroly blue are the ones you've read I think?

Loving it compared to the existing app atm but can't find the option to flip a thread - vital when you're on a long-running one (in anticipation of the Christmas bargain threads!). Sorry if I've missed the explanation, there's a lot on here to get through.

I can't find an option to get me to the last post I read / flip a thread / get me to the last page. Am I missing something obvious?

To get to the last post read I think you need to bookmark it before you leave, then it returns you to that point next time (and puts a big blue blob on it)

Justine- with your large font issue - do you have Larger Text turned on in your Settings? This app supports Dynamic Type so the text alters in size according to how your slider bar is set

I also like the back button being at the top - on the mobile site I often find it difficult to get the back button showing without activating one of the buttons on the bar at the bottom - or if I'm being particularly ham-fisted, bring up the control centre stuff

I actually don't find the ads very obtrusive at all - I just skim past them ( which may not be what your advertisers want to hear!

Actually using the bookmarking seems to make much more sense... Need to retrain myself!

Its was me that reported my picture moab dont worry, i'm not bothered - i put pictures of me up all the time, was mainly just checking the report function. Weird that you can still see it though?

Not on the app now, but i only spotted one ad yesterday and it was a mn book one? I havent got any adblocker that i am aware of?

I'm enjoying it.

I was finding that as I scrolled down to the bottom the ads were still loading as I zipped past, so I didn't really see them.
