Would you like to test an early version of our Talk app?

Hello,
We've been working on a test version of a new Talk app and could do with your help putting it through it's paces.

If you have an iPhone with iOS8 (sorry no iPods, iPads or android for now) and you'd like a sneak preview then head on over to this sign up page and sign up so we can send you an invite (it doesn't have to be your Mumsnet email address just one you can access).

The app is very much a beta version and everything may not work perfectly. If you find something that's broken or think there is something missing, please let us know.

Ideally we'd like you to use the app to read and post on threads and do whatever you normally do in Talk. Please note, this version of the app is LIVE and anything you post will appear on the Mumsnet site for all to see.

At the mo this is for registered mumsnetters only so if you can't see the sign up page please check you are logged in.

Sorted, after some palaver.

If you're using the current MN app to view this thread, the link won't work - I've had to use the browser on my phone to log on, switch to the desktop site and the register.

Love how Mumsnetters are so clever and work things out.

To summarise the problem solving:

1. Link to the form from the main site, through a browser (not the current Talk app).

1. You must be logged in before linking, or you will just see the MN Hompage. (Nothing to do with iOS8 at this stage.)

1. The email you put in the form doesn’t need to be your Mumsnet login.

1. This sign up is not connected to your Mumsnet account - just where we send the invitation. Once you’ve downloaded the Talk app, you will log in to that with your regular username/password.

1. The test app will only work for iOS8

Some of your suspicions about the new app might be correct…

I was already logged in though, so that might have made the difference.

Oh, and can other app users please tell me whether or not I'm just a numpty with a stray finger too close to the top of the screen or if they also have the problem of premature posting?

First impressions - I can finally get rid of threads I'm watching after having them stuck on the old app for years

How do I flip threads? There was a way on the previous test version but I can't see it now? It could just be me not looking properly of course

When I hit reply I can't see the thread, which makes it difficult to reply to the previous posts (I have a memory like a sieve).
But I do like being able to do this without even trying
