Would you like to test an early version of our Talk app?

Hello,
We've been working on a test version of a new Talk app and could do with your help putting it through it's paces.

If you have an iPhone with iOS8 (sorry no iPods, iPads or android for now) and you'd like a sneak preview then head on over to this sign up page and sign up so we can send you an invite (it doesn't have to be your Mumsnet email address just one you can access).

The app is very much a beta version and everything may not work perfectly. If you find something that's broken or think there is something missing, please let us know.

Ideally we'd like you to use the app to read and post on threads and do whatever you normally do in Talk. Please note, this version of the app is LIVE and anything you post will appear on the Mumsnet site for all to see.

At the mo this is for registered mumsnetters only so if you can't see the sign up page please check you are logged in.

Preparing for September 19th..,

One thing I am finding is that I keep getting a message when using 3G to say that I am offline and it cannot post my message and to try again later - but when I check the thread it has posted them.

Got my link today for the new app so far so good prefer it to the old one. I like how I can now see pictures on the thread when on the app.

Justine- with your large font issue - do you have Larger Text turned on in your Settings? This app supports Dynamic Type so the text alters in size according to how your slider bar is set

Actually no, my settings are are in the middle. Think we've established it's an iphone 6+ issue and we'll get on it.

Another thing I've noticed - I'm hiding threads, but they come back each time the active page refreshes - shouldn't they stay hidden?

I like it. It seems very easy to use. The only thing I really miss is flip, but I am mollified by the promise it will be coming in the final version.

Text size needs sorting. It's mahoosive on my iPhone 6plus. I have the text set for large in my general settings which works well for other apps but it's way too big on the MN App

My other big issue is that you are still using your 1980's inspired logo on the start up page. You know the one that looks like the Charlie's Angels logo - it's so naff and dated.

You need to be able to flip the thread as PPs have already said

Nagasaki, I think she's supposed to be a British shorthair but I know they're easy to confuse, so who knows! She's actually my mother's (one of three that she has), I just visit them from time to time

I was on a thread that was deleted earlier and it's not on TIO now. (I had a peek on the old site so I know it was deleted).

Ahem. You mean the one that's at the top of every page on the desktop site ? it's not naff and dated, it's retro and cool (and it's Mumsnet's!)

How odd it didn't work on my first post

Installed and already hating this.

Can't scroll to the last page of replies easily on long threads like this. All I wanted to know are the most recent responses. Now I cba to keep scrolling.

Ok. Just went to TIO and it doesn't remember where I was. So now I have to scroll for a long time to get to the end.

I know the mobile web page doesn't remember either but at least I can click last and go backwards till I get to posts I haven't seen.

Back to the mobile web page. Things that make the app unusable with TIO

It's not ordered by latest posts. And I can't see the last reply. Turned out the first one I saw in the app has no updates.

Actually the safari version does take me to the latest posts. I will retract my last post about it.
