Would you like to test an early version of our Talk app?

Hello,
We've been working on a test version of a new Talk app and could do with your help putting it through it's paces.

If you have an iPhone with iOS8 (sorry no iPods, iPads or android for now) and you'd like a sneak preview then head on over to this sign up page and sign up so we can send you an invite (it doesn't have to be your Mumsnet email address just one you can access).

The app is very much a beta version and everything may not work perfectly. If you find something that's broken or think there is something missing, please let us know.

Ideally we'd like you to use the app to read and post on threads and do whatever you normally do in Talk. Please note, this version of the app is LIVE and anything you post will appear on the Mumsnet site for all to see.

At the mo this is for registered mumsnetters only so if you can't see the sign up page please check you are logged in.

I think the font size it ok with the 5 and with the ordinary 6 (which mine is). Just an issue with the 6 plus.

I prefer seeing what the most recent posts are, as on the mobile site, instead of just the thread title - that way you know if there's anything new to look at

How does the search function work?
I see the Search box on the Topics tab but when I type and press return nothing happens?

TIW is in a strange order
I'd prefer to have the number of new posts since I bookmarked, I used to be able to tell from the text of the last post if there were new ones

I think the bookmark arrow should be at the bottom of the post rather than the top

I can't find any settings, so I'm getting stickys when I don't want them

Other than those niggles, I like it a lot

What am I doing wrong with underscore? It looks fine on the screen and then the post is wrong.

I'm on 6+ and font size is fine. Any smaller and I'd be squinting

The choice of background colours is a bit weak, effectively a range of pinks or mumsnet blue. I'm not sure what the point of that is as the text background is still white.

I DO like the ability to view pics and the fact OP/my posts are highlighted.

I don't like that threads I hide using the swipe function reappear (I've tried to hide several survey threads which just come back when I reopen the app)

What are the benefits/significance of using an app over a browser webpage?

Really confused!! My long thread which has just filled up shows all of yesterday's posts. Which aren't the newest then scroll down and find ones from 20/06. Very confused

I like being able to see if there are new posts on TIO without having to go into the thread --especially as when I get there I can't flip

I think TIO is a bit random, in terms of order and also some v old stuff in there, and more recent stuff missing.

Overall I'm really liking it though blind faith that these rinkydinks will be ironed out.

Had a bit of a panic just now - will you take this off us after a while because it's only a test?

Thing is that even the new app doesn't do many of the things I prefer from the mobile site (or the desktop site, actually) so even if they are slower I'm most likely to stick with them. Or wait till I get home...

Please let it have - pictures and page numbers!
