Would you like to test an early version of our Talk app?

Hello,
We've been working on a test version of a new Talk app and could do with your help putting it through it's paces.

If you have an iPhone with iOS8 (sorry no iPods, iPads or android for now) and you'd like a sneak preview then head on over to this sign up page and sign up so we can send you an invite (it doesn't have to be your Mumsnet email address just one you can access).

The app is very much a beta version and everything may not work perfectly. If you find something that's broken or think there is something missing, please let us know.

Ideally we'd like you to use the app to read and post on threads and do whatever you normally do in Talk. Please note, this version of the app is LIVE and anything you post will appear on the Mumsnet site for all to see.

At the mo this is for registered mumsnetters only so if you can't see the sign up page please check you are logged in.

Thanks in advance for your help - looking forward (I think) to your feedback.

Sorry for the issues you're all having with the app at the moment. It's having a problem connecting with the Mumsnet server.

Since the server side of things isn't my area, I'm afraid there's nothing I can do to get it working again tonight. However, I'll get right on it in the morning, and I'll be back to post an update here as soon as I can.

In the mean time, the mobile website appears to be working as normal. Apologies, all, for the inconvenience.

First impression of the aptly of the new app is that it's very sleek! However I am currently unable to login like everyone else, and so haven't had a chance to test it properly. Can't wait to though, so I shall watch this space!

Nope it's not working for me at all anymore the screens just come up blank and if you pull down to refresh nothing happens.

I can't log in to the new app since I reset my password, is it just waiting for data to be synced across or what?

Just plain purple screens, can't even get on active convos without logging in.

Mind you, tech is probably a bit busy just now working on other stuff Flowers - I've had to borrow my dad's ancient flaky laptop and internet connection from the dark ages to post this, wont' be back till the app is working again/I get home :o

I am too. Tonight's password reset has not sorted access, sadly.

I suppose the test app is the least of MNHQ's worries though...

All isn't working for me either after password reset. It says "I appear to be offline."

Can I ask a couple of questions about the new app?

  1. Is there a discussions of the day tab? I quite liked that function.
  1. Clicking the ACTIVE button has a limited amount of active threads, whereas before it used to go on for as long as you had time to be idle on MN!
  1. I can't see any way to view my personal messages, is that still possible in the new app?

Well I should probably clarify that I can see 53 active posts and then the page stops, offering me to go "back to top" whereas the old app would just keep on a'scrolling!
