Would you like to test an early version of our Talk app?

Hello,
We've been working on a test version of a new Talk app and could do with your help putting it through it's paces.

If you have an iPhone with iOS8 (sorry no iPods, iPads or android for now) and you'd like a sneak preview then head on over to this sign up page and sign up so we can send you an invite (it doesn't have to be your Mumsnet email address just one you can access).

The app is very much a beta version and everything may not work perfectly. If you find something that's broken or think there is something missing, please let us know.

Ideally we'd like you to use the app to read and post on threads and do whatever you normally do in Talk. Please note, this version of the app is LIVE and anything you post will appear on the Mumsnet site for all to see.

At the mo this is for registered mumsnetters only so if you can't see the sign up page please check you are logged in.

Thanks in advance for your help - looking forward (I think) to your feedback.

gammon MN had an outage last night and no one could get on. All fixed now though, your app should be up and running again soon. Mine is fine now.

Have downloaded the update for the app and text is now a bit more compact on the screen which is good, a lot neater looking.

If we had the option to go to "last post" on a thread that'd be great. On long threads it's a LOT of scrolling, whereas on the normal site we can click to go to the last page.

Photos don't load properly. This is the same photo, viewed through the test app and the safari iOS8 version on iPhone6. Bit annoying when they are screenshots of text...

I love the new app! I think you need to adjust some topic names for the new topics bit though - if you search for pushchairs or nappies then it comes up with the one from products and the one from for sale / wanted, with no sign which is which.

MNHQ I can't post from the app anymore!! Every time I try it tells me I'm offline. But I'm not, it quite happily loads threads, just won't let me post Sad

I've reset my internet connection, and closed the app completely, but still no joy, any ideas?

You can see I have strong wifi signal from the screenshot!

Hello MummySparkle we'll take a look into this, can you confirm which version you're in please? You can check by going to the Testflight app and clicking on the talk icon. Thanks

I'll echo what acatcalledjon says about photos, this seems to have happened since the last update, they were clear before. Photos posted by me come out fine, it's just ones from other posters.

Also there's something funny happening with the numbering. A thread on the 'I'm on screen' will say there's 250 posts in it. Then when you're in that thread it will say a different number, like 246 posts. Do you want screenshots?

Jessica, I now get the same login error as *MummySparkle, since I completed the forced password reset just now. No probs accessing via Safari on my phone.

Yep same here, can't use the new app since I password changed. no probs on safari of the old mobile version

Just had to delete again as couldn't see any posts or topics. Just re-added and was firstly saying I had the wrong password so I reset, once I reset it was saying I was offline and to check my internet, I'm definitely not offline. Argh.

I can't log onto the app, I've just looked on test flight and it says version one but I've had to update recently. Same issues as everyone else up thread. Changed my password but still can't log in, just nothing appearing in active threads or

Hi, I've switched from app to mobile as I can't get threads to open from 'active' and TIO is not showing anything at all. Was all ok for me this afternoon - 3ish Smile

Another one whose app isn't working. Was working fine around 4-4:30 when I posted. I've tried logging out and now it won't let me log back in Shock

Yep me neither. It's been working all fine up until now, but I just get a blue screen.

Me too.

I was getting the blank screen with no threads coming up, then I read about the forced password reset which I've done and I get on fine with the old app or through the website but the new app says I'm offline.

not working for me either, but I hardly think that the new app is a priority with everything else that's going on, the old app and web work fine now.
