Would you like to test an early version of our Talk app?

Hello,
We've been working on a test version of a new Talk app and could do with your help putting it through it's paces.

If you have an iPhone with iOS8 (sorry no iPods, iPads or android for now) and you'd like a sneak preview then head on over to this sign up page and sign up so we can send you an invite (it doesn't have to be your Mumsnet email address just one you can access).

The app is very much a beta version and everything may not work perfectly. If you find something that's broken or think there is something missing, please let us know.

Ideally we'd like you to use the app to read and post on threads and do whatever you normally do in Talk. Please note, this version of the app is LIVE and anything you post will appear on the Mumsnet site for all to see.

At the mo this is for registered mumsnetters only so if you can't see the sign up page please check you are logged in.

Hi headreamer I had the same issue then discovered the awesome swipe left and bookmark option - do this on the last post you read and hey presto

You know there are new posts since you last looked if the speech bubble with the number in is highlighted.

Is it just me or is a little creepy looking?

I think the bookmark option is good, and I have used it occasionally for ages, but I don't always remember, so it would be helpful if TIO would remember the last post I got up to, I think.

I'd also like it if you could navigate using the "breadcrumbs" at the top, the way you can on the website. If I have gone into a thread in say, AIBU from active convos, I like to to be able to go straight into the main AIBU section from that thread, without going all the way out and back to the topics section to do it. I can't see any way of doing that in the app?

It seems to highlight that there is a new message on the thread. Even if that message is your own!

Also in tio the ones with new messages need to be in something more obvious rather than white.

Plus what other have said about seeing a line of the most recent message. Would be helpful.

zebda thanks for the speech bubble hint. But would still like to be able to navigate to most recent without a bookmark.

The latest TIO is not appearing as is the thread I'm watching most recently

on reflection I have decided I love the so called retro logo

I've seen a thread where the dates on posts are mixed up. Posts that are over a month old are marked as being posted yesterday.

Also I'd love a way to switch between the beginning and the end of a thread quickly. All this scrolling is making me tired.

Search function doesn't seem to work.

Font is far too big (iPhone 6, not the plus version). Far too much white. Would also like lines dividing posts.

I would also like to be able to click on links to the topic from the top of the thread.

Would like the option to view pages as well as flipping, which is apparently coming.

I do like the swipe to get back to active topics, but would like to be able to reverse swipe back to the thread again, at the same reading point.

Would like a my topics option, as I'm often only interested in one topic within a section, but that 's probably hoping for too much!

It did take quite a while to find this thread in the jungle that seems to be "I'm on"

posting this on mac as I've lost the thread on the Ap again.

In ACTIVE there is a thread I started and the number next to it is 36 - is that 36 posts? But when I see the same thread in "I'm On" the number is 117. Then I look on the mac the thread length is 117 posts. So what is going on with the number in Active on the ap?

OMG I've just found a really bad glitch on THIS THREAD A troll posted some revolting pictures yesterday which were very quickly reported and deleted......
However, the picture is still showing in the APP along with the deletion message.

I love it. I haven't been on the old site since. It's perfect for a quicky at work. Ooer missus. The font is clear. The pics are brill.

I've found something else- the dates of posts can be wrong. I've noticed that I've been reading posts from a week ago, but it's marked 'yesterday' or dates not running in sequence.

I've been reading a thread just now where a string of posts were marked 21/07/2015 between 11am and 1pm - well that's today, and impossible as its only 7.30 am now

Yes some posts say yesterday when they are months back

When you view a thread in the active list the speech bubble with the number of posts changes color but if you refresh the list the bubbles all turn white again so if you don't remember the title of the threads you have seen you end up looking at them again.

Ok now I've had my 3rd coffee I realise today is 22/07/2015 . But the random dates/yesterday thing is true
