Following on from discussion on another thread - could we have a Scottish section, please?

The local information is good, but it is too local to apply to the whole of Scotland, if you see what I mean.

Very quick with the nail polish....impressed!

I actually....wait for it.....had to take my jacket off today, positively tropical.

SirChenjin · 05/04/2015 22:27

I left my jacket off when we went for a walk - couldn't quite bring myself to go without any form of outerwear so threw caution to the wind and tied a long cardigan round my waist. I didn't even need it!

OOAOML · 05/04/2015 23:06

I had a light jacket on today when out and was too hot. On Tuesday evening I was out in winter coat and gloves and my hands were so cold they hurt.

OOAOML · 05/04/2015 23:08

Must be time to sort my feet out (currently in winter condition, bring on the flexitol!)

Momagain1 · 05/04/2015 23:24

Hi, just checking in. I see we are still HERE, instead of in local-Scotland or whatever they will do to satisfy our need to talk amongst ourselves.

My mother is visiting. Much chocolate has been consumed since her arrival Friday. And wine. We have been to Willow Tea Room. Well, honestly, every day has involved a tea and cake stop.

On the itenerary this week: a day for just me and her. An evening for her and ds alone while dh and I go out. (Thanks mom!) a day being tourists on the open top bus here in Glasgow: transport museum and Kelvingrove And botanic Garden to feature. We must also walk past ds school so he can show it to her. A day out in Edinburgh.

She wants a nice lamb roast one day too, as really good lamb isnt to be had in US. Today we roasted a naice ham.

Have managed to avoid topics of disagreement so far. But it's only day 3 of 8. Pray for me. Though preyer is ine of the topics. But i did accompany her to Mass this morning and you notice the world did not end.

I guess we just keep this thread going and create part 2, part 3 etc until we get what we want. waves protest flag whilst munching easter egg

SirChenjin · 06/04/2015 09:38

I started another thread under Site Stuff a few days ago to ask if HQ had made a decision. Olivia's response is as follows -

I am pretty sure the Scotsnet one was a yes. AFAIK (and I am kept in the dark about most things really wink) we are looking for the best name tbh, but as ever, tis a bank hol and we need the 9 to 5 powers that be to reticulate splines etc and put the widgets in place. Thanks

I vote we give them another few days and then we dig out the woad

Momagain1 · 06/04/2015 09:40

What do we want?
MNScots
When do we want it?
now. Or, well, when the holidays are over, or the chocoate runs out

Christinayangstwistedsister · 06/04/2015 10:39

Mom

How strange we re thinking of doing the open top bus as well, we came home recently after living abroad for a few years and realized we don't know our own country!

Doing the dinosaur exhibition, rouken glen, the maze at George square and Edinburgh castle this week

SirChenjin · 06/04/2015 10:55

Where's the dinosaur exhibition??

Christinayangstwistedsister · 06/04/2015 11:02

Kelvin grove museum , looks good

SirChenjin · 06/04/2015 11:09

Thanks - DS2 is a big fan of the beasts. Will definitely add it to the to do list Smile

Mrsjayy · 06/04/2015 12:19

Christinayangstwistedsister · 06/04/2015 13:31

its great, we wander over to the park as there is a really nice wee cafe

Momagain1 · 06/04/2015 22:59

I forgot about the maze, how long is that there? Remembered about the huge bouncy castle fair at glasgow green only when the bus got there. Long lines! Promised wee boy we are going to that next week after grandma has gone home.

Didnt make it to Kelvingrove museum afterall. Tomorrow is another day!

Christinayangstwistedsister · 07/04/2015 06:59

Off to inflatable city at Glasgow green today... Save me !

Putty · 08/04/2015 16:22

Ooh, is it happening then? Exciting!

PacificDogwood · 08/04/2015 18:03

Wanna know how long it took me to get sunburn??
10 fecking minutes Shock
Darn Scottish skin. And me not even actually Scottish! Hmm

KatieScarlettreregged · 08/04/2015 18:24

Aww Pac, hope you've plenty of aloe whatsit and are not in pain.
Been back at work this week and am totally knackered. Not like me at all, plan on having a very early night Smile

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 08/04/2015 19:06

Christinayangstwistedsister

How was the inflatable city? I cant decide whether to take DD or not. I'm worried about (lack of non minging) toilets, massive queues, and big kids taking out DD who is only 4.

Saw the start of the maze installation in Geo Sq today - quite fancy having a go Smile

PacificDogwood · 08/04/2015 19:30

I'm fine, thanks, just feel stupid re sunburn. I should really know better.

I'm clearly out of the loop but maze and inflatable city sounds amazing Smile

Christinayangstwistedsister · 08/04/2015 19:36

Inflatable city is a total nightmare....don't go!

They let bloody everyone in so the queues are huge...we were in an hour and left

I think your right about dd, they were feral

Christinayangstwistedsister · 08/04/2015 19:37

Going to maze on Friday then some tapas in Merchant city, may be forced to have a wee vino

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 08/04/2015 19:42

Christinayangstwistedsister

Thanks for the heads up Shock I'll definitely give it a miss!

Christinayangstwistedsister · 09/04/2015 18:52
