Following on from discussion on another thread - could we have a Scottish section, please?

The local information is good, but it is too local to apply to the whole of Scotland, if you see what I mean.

How have the bastarding SNP hijacked AIBU?? Angry

SirChenjin · 09/04/2015 19:13

Oh - and yay!!! to Justine!! (sorry, got distracted there...)

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 09/04/2015 19:25

How have the bastarding SNP hijacked AIBU??

They haven't. There is however a ridiculous number of AIBUs about how terrible it is that SNP might be involved in WM after the GE.

OneMagnumisneverenough · 09/04/2015 19:32

Why have I not read this thread before?

It's braw and a think av pished masel Blush

SirChenjin · 09/04/2015 19:35

That's fine - as long as they (or indeed any political party) haven't taken over this forum.

As to the AIBUs re the SNP - it must be their turn.

Fair doos

SirChenjin · 09/04/2015 19:55

Yes, sorry One - I was forgetting my manners there in my self-righteous froth Grin

Welcome to ScotsNet or whatever we're calling it. Not quite as thrilling as SexNet that's been suggested for the Sussex/Essex/round those parts thread, but there's scones (to rhyme with gone, natch) and tea Smile

OneMagnumisneverenough · 09/04/2015 20:02

I'm a weirdo non tea drinker - haven't drunk it since I stopped getting it in a bottle about 1967 :o

Partial to a wee scone noo and then tho :)

Christinayangstwistedsister · 09/04/2015 20:09

Ragin we can't use sexnet

SirChenjin · 09/04/2015 20:09

Grin Is there a child of the 60s/early 70s who wasn't raised on tea (with sugar, of course)?

Help yourself to scones Smile

OneMagnumisneverenough · 09/04/2015 20:13

probably not - better than fruit shoots and irn bru maybe. Although it was all Bon-accord and Alpine back in those days....or Fresca or was it Cresta? Confused

Christinayangstwistedsister · 09/04/2015 20:18

God I remember the Alpine man!

OneMagnumisneverenough · 09/04/2015 20:19

Pineapple crush was the best!

frankie80 · 09/04/2015 20:19

spits out tea at "sexnet"

Where did Justine say 'yes'?

whoop whoop

Mrsjayy · 09/04/2015 20:20

I mind alpine limeade was toxic green bloody stuff glowed in the dark

OneMagnumisneverenough · 09/04/2015 20:22

I remember the limeade too. None of your diet stuff in those days either. no wonder we all had mouths like ancient graveyards.

SirChenjin · 09/04/2015 20:42

We had the Bon Accord van - it used to come round our way on a Friday night, with the naughty lads sitting on the back of the flat bed truck, legs swinging, fag in the corner of their mouth and not even hanging onto the side. I was a naice girl from a naice neighbourhood - it was thrilling

Christinayangstwistedsister · 09/04/2015 20:46

You are wild Sirchen

OneMagnumisneverenough · 09/04/2015 20:50

one of my brothers was a bon-accord boy for a while - he also did the milk and tatties - we did all the paper rounds and one of the Sunday runs involved sitting in the back of the van with the doors open jumping out to deliver the paper and then catching it back up and jumping back in.....it was thrilling - wouldn't be allowed nowadays :o

SirChenjin · 09/04/2015 20:51

I really am

SirChenjin · 09/04/2015 20:53

I wonder if your brother was one of the BA boys I used to lust after admire for his work ethic? Aberdeen suburbs by any chance?

Definitely wouldn't be allowed nowadays - all this health and safety nonsense. I'm sure they weren't that many accidents from boys falling off of the back of the vans at speed

Mrsjayy · 09/04/2015 20:55

Oh get sirchenjin lusting after the bon accord bad boys Grin

OneMagnumisneverenough · 09/04/2015 20:57

No Sir, Edinburgh and he wasn't really lust material :o Lovely bloke with a great line in chat and never without a girlfriend, but he wasn't a handsome lad, also ginger.

There wasn't so much traffic on the road in those days so chances of being run over by following cars were much reduced :)
