Morning all,

And welcome to the new thread!
Grin

As SarahMumsnet said at the end of the last thread, we have Tech on call for fixes this weekend, and various MNHQers will be here to talk and help wherever we can.

We'll be adding to the rolling list of bugs, glitches and dislikes (see below), so please keep the feedback coming. Do remember to list which device you're using, which operating system, and which browser, so we can identify the specific issues.

Right then, who's first?

Horsemad · 10/09/2014 16:52

Confused I still haven't managed to find/unhide my lost thread Sad Any suggestions please?

Can anyone see if they can see a thread on Secondary Education titled Yr 13 Support Thread (or something similar) please?

Sirzy · 10/09/2014 18:24

It seems not all photos are showing in theads. I can guess by the comments there should be a pic but can't see it

SwedishEdith · 10/09/2014 18:27

It's annoying me know. I have to Flip the thread to read the latest post now and I don't want to

Ah, came on to post that the latest post on a thread shows in TIO but then vanishes when you open the thread - I see a number of people have beaten me to it!

TeWiSavesTheDay · 10/09/2014 19:39

Yup same problem as others with latest post! Mobile, android, chrome.

Not sure but I think it might just be when the new post starts a new page.

Horsemad · 10/09/2014 20:03

Nobody from MN here today? Sad

Ok, so I am persevering in to use the mobile site since the desktop site is awful on my phone and there are a couple of issues that are really bugging me.

  1. The chevron button has switched from top right, immediately below the three buttons for search etc, to the left side immediately below the 'talk' link. So now, over 50% of the times I press the chevron to watch a thread, I accidentally press talk instead and have to start again.
  2. It is no longer possible to resize the text on a page as all the blue boxes resize as well meaning that the newly enlarged text is still unreadable because it is now covered by the bigger blue boxes.

All in all, almost three weeks on, this is still nowhere near as good or functional as the old site. I am so disappointed that you released this without proper and thoroughly testing it. I cannot believe you were prepared to put you loyal members through all this and I sincerely hope that the 'teething' issues have not prevented anyone from getting some desperately needed support. I have read so many posts in the past from members who are desperate and who only have access to MN via a mobile.

Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab 3
OS Android Jelly Bean 4.1
Browser: Chrome

Sorry, forgot to include my details. And realised that the link would convert when I posted - however in the screenshot you can see it's not converted & no preview box IYSWIM.

stupidgreatgrinonmyface · 10/09/2014 22:39

Sorry, forgot to add, HTC ONE M8,
Android O/S , default internet.

Lweji · 11/09/2014 07:49

New issue, in that it only appeared yesterday.
When I click on a thread from TIO I don't see the last post. It shows on the TIO page but not on the thread.
The same happened when I post. It doesn't show on the thread. But it shows on the TIO list of latest posts.

IPod touch 4.2.1
default browser.

WinifredTheLostDenver · 11/09/2014 09:14

When I hide a thread from TIO, I don't get a replacement thread I.e. It was showing 20 threads, it now shows 18 rather than the original 18 and a different 2.

IPhone 4S
Safari

CantEvenKeepAnOrchidAlive · 11/09/2014 09:20

Another who can see a post has been added to a thread on TIO but not able to see it when I click the thread. Could it be the OP's post being pinned to the top and somehow 'covering' the latest post added?

CantEvenKeepAnOrchidAlive · 11/09/2014 09:22

Oops sorry.

JessicaMumsnet · 11/09/2014 12:22

Hello! Several people mentioned the wish to see the OP at the top of each page (particularly useful on longer threads) so we've added an option to 'show op' next to the thread title.

Tech are actually having a little tinker with it now because we spotted a iPhone anomaly.

The missing posts on TIO is most intriguing! Thank you for the screenshots and digging you've been doing it's really helpful to our own investigations. We'll let you know when we've tracked down. Thanks

MrsHathaway · 11/09/2014 12:42

Bump so we can read Jessica's post!

JessicaMumsnet · 11/09/2014 12:55

BrunoTech has worked this out hoorah! We'll release the fix later after the FABULOUS Michael Palin webchat is over Grin

Needasilverlining · 11/09/2014 13:29

And again no answer for the people who find reading the new site makes them feel ill.

That point about this being a special site is one I'm less convinced of than I used to be.

Barbeasty · 11/09/2014 13:32

Actually I might be missing the obvious, but I can't see any button saying Find a local site. Where should it be?

And I can see something that says "Show op" at the top of threads, but it is just grey letters and in no way clickable.

I'm on a Samsung note 3, on KitKat, using the standard browser.

MrsHathaway · 11/09/2014 13:39

Fabulous Michael Palin currently hasalovely "show op" button ... and 102 invisible posts.

HTC Desire C, Android 4.0.3, WebKit 5.

So when you say "fixed" ... ?

I agree needa, I'm not convinced it's even on the to do list any more. Sad
