Morning all,

And welcome to the new thread!
Grin

As SarahMumsnet said at the end of the last thread, we have Tech on call for fixes this weekend, and various MNHQers will be here to talk and help wherever we can.

We'll be adding to the rolling list of bugs, glitches and dislikes (see below), so please keep the feedback coming. Do remember to list which device you're using, which operating system, and which browser, so we can identify the specific issues.

Right then, who's first?

lucid if you go on the I'm watching page, at the bottom of the list of replies should be three little dots. If you press them it should be there. I found it completely by accident Grin

What has happened to the icons??? This wasn't like this before. I'm on iphone 4, latest ios, using Safari. The attach picture button below the text post box has also transformed into a loudspeaker! #emojifail

SE Xperia arc android.

I disable the blue bar, only for it to reappear a couple of clicks later.

I also mentioned a while ago changing the line spacing to be the same as in the quotations as it fits more on the page, and changing the white background to something else to make it more readable. You noted my comments but is anything actually going to be done about that? Readability is still a massive issue for me.

IrenetheQuaint · 06/09/2014 17:19

I have the same problem with the blue bar as springbabydays, plus all the problems listed by JellyBeans on 4/9. My phone is one the MN staff say they don't have access to (Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro, Android 2.3.4, default browser) but perhaps if these issues are sorted out for the posters mentioned above they'll start working for me too.

BertieBotts · 06/09/2014 18:45

I've just realised today, that there isn't an easy way to get to the topics page. And when I did eventually find a way, it didn't work. It came up with a box saying "Hi! Start by clicking on Active or Topics [OK]" but I couldn't tap on the OK or on the blue text here, it did nothing. Pressed "back" on my phone and it went away but then I couldn't click on any of the topics, they didn't work either.

I quite often go to browse through a topic to find a thread I've seen earlier or to see some new threads if I'm bored of Active, and of course you need to go through the topic page to start a new thread.

Does anyone else have this issue?

HTC Desire C, Android 4.0 (ICS), default android browser.

Barbeasty · 06/09/2014 20:37

How do I get to local sites other than the one you've a signed me to?

springbabydays · 08/09/2014 20:00

SE Xperia arc android.

Still getting the revolving circle of dots after posting and have to refresh page to get away from it.

emotionsecho · 08/09/2014 22:16

Just a quick question what does the circle at the top on the far right with lines in it do? I clicked on it and nothing seemed to happen.

All other icons etc., seem to work fine.

Posting is fine and battery usage is back to normal.

Still struggling with the 'look' of the site, it has improved but I still get eye strain and pre migraine symptoms if on too long.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 with default browser and settings.

Hi emotionsecho, Tech are looking into that now. It's supposed to bring a site wide menu for you but we had a couple of reports of tapping not working on a couple of devices. Thanks

Hello, the HTC is one of the devices Tech are looking at again to try to solve the non-tapping issue. Clicking the Talk breadcrumb would be one quick way to return to the Topics page. Smile

@Barbeasty

Hello, on any local site there's a button which says "Find a local site" which will take you to the full list of sites to choose from.

LineRunner · 09/09/2014 10:59

Well, I'm much happier now. Thanks for all the improvements.

(Kindle fire.)

Barbeasty · 09/09/2014 14:01

Thank you.

And I'll second that now the glitches are fix, and the old functionality is back I don't mind the site!

ancientbuchanan · 09/09/2014 23:45

How bizarre. I tried to post you saying that for s blissful week I had had the old site, and could post with ease on any thread. But although the post changed colour I can't find my post...

And now it has changed back and I have all the HTC problems.

Hey Ho. Why was I given this gift?

What's this about buttons down the side? Not for me.

Needasilverlining · 10/09/2014 09:59

I tried the mobile site this morning for the first time in a week and have had to give up after ten minutes because I was getting the motion sickness feeling. The text spacing is absurdly wide, which makes for constant scrolling and motion sickness.

Sorry to say, this isn't a question of tech fixes for me. I just don't get on with this style and therefore, effectively, can't use mn any more SadSadSad

Top post missing.

See screenshot of TIO, and then screenshots of the pages the posts appear. The middle post in the TIO is missing!

Have there been more changes? I now keep seeing the original post at the top, which I presume is intentional? Wouldn't mind an option to get rid of it. But there also seems to be a delay between pressing 'post' and it actually posting. I have to look at TIO to see if it's worked. Xperia Chrome Android

LineRunner · 10/09/2014 12:44

I'm getting that 'lost post' thing today, too. (Kindle fire.)

I haven't done it today but if I've reported a thread the 'return to thread' link takes me to a biscuit

I have this too....

Horsemad · 10/09/2014 13:44

I've lost a thread! Been posting on Secondary Education and after I posted this morning, it disappeared of Threads I'm On and isn't shown in the forum any longer.

If I've hidden it accidentally, how can I retrieve it please?

I'm using the mobile site on an old Samsung Galaxy phone - don't know any other details, sorry.

MrsHathaway · 10/09/2014 13:48

SwedishEdith I think it's worse than that...

If you are set to "newest first" then the first visible post is the OP, duplicated from the bottom. But the total number of posts is as shown - ie the duplicated OP shows instead of the most recent post.

Buggy logic somewhere Grin

SwedishEdith · 10/09/2014 14:07

Argh I can see Mrshathaway has addressed me when I look at TIO but the post has vanished when I open this thread

SwedishEdith · 10/09/2014 14:09

Oh yes now I can read you MrsH Grin
