Hi all,

As you know we have launched the new mobile site, we know it's a big change and we are still very keen to get it right with your help. This is very much a version that will evolve with your help as part of the testing process.

There have been a few glitches that have/are being ironed out and the HUGE thread has nearly maxed out, so we thought it best to start a shiny new one.

We know change is tricky but, as with most things MN, we are all ears and happy to look at any feedback you have on ways we can improve the new site.

Do you have to go onto the thread you're watching to unwatch ? Does it give that option ?

I had a look for you but cannot see it.

I'm not happy, I loved the old site and don't see what was so awful about it. Just trying to make the best of it.

I've been using desktop since the changes, cos even though it's hard to read it's still better than the new site.

Right hand corner of post, at the bottom ? 3 little dots.

Press that, and a range of options, including bookmark should come up for you.

You may have to scroll down a bit once you have pressed the 3 dots.

It's all such a pain, isn't it.

I will keeping doing this till we get an answer. C'mon MNHQ, I don't believe for a second you haven't seen the dozens of begging posts. At least acknowledge them.

My three dots don't have a bookmark option. Only report, pm, profile, reply and top.

ElBand - I think so, yes. Go on the thread and press the circle with the arrow in it next to the title. And it should be there.

I love how sometimes on seemingly trivial threads like when we all get huffy with trolls and troublemakers, HQ come out in droves to speak to us and remind us of talk guidelines etc.

Yet something like this happens and the big guns are all missing.

No apologies for messing up, making people feel ill, rendering mn unuseable for some.

Just a couple of HQ'ers and Tech thrown to us beseeching us to be reasonable and patient.

Seriously though, I had 100% battery this morning on an iPhone 5 and even just a small amount of usage of the new mobile site and I'm suddenly down to 35% AND I'm on wi-fi (I would normally use only a tiny fraction of this amount even on 3G). This is really ridiculous, it not only makes the mobile site unusable for all the reasons everyone else has pointed out but now you really can't use it for out and about browsing because it clearly eats data and battery usage - there's no way I could do my usual amount of on the spot MN browsing if I need my phone battery to last until the end of the day. PLEASE give us an option to have the old one back. You really are risking a massive exodus with this one and you need to LISTEN to what posters are saying

In that case, Germ and Mabel, I guess HQ or Tech will ask you to be patient, as they are "dealing with lots of changes/updating".

I very much doubt you can have the old site back. This isn't just a few wee tweaks - can't have old site back without turning new one off, and I very much doubt that will happen....

Another important point. (IMO)

I have just sent tons of the same PM to someone because it didn't look like I had sent the message.
On a second PM I had to check Sent to make sure it had gone through.

You need to add a second screen saying the messages have been sent.

Germgirl I don't get a bookmark option either on my three dots. Just Report, Profile, Top, PM, Reply.

If you can see other option but bookmark - are you sure you are logged in?

There is a horrible floating ad which encourages you to sign up for the Talk roundup. Ghastly on an iPAD - which I don't sign in to -- it floats around everywhere, you accidentally click on the bloody thing, and it keeps on coming back after you kill it. If nothing else please nail it to the sidebar so it can't move.

Yes re the battery usage. I'm down to 20% (had 100% this morning). A full charge used to last me two days. And I'm on wifi too.

I'm also not happy about the amount of charge its taken from my phone.

Don't think a mass exodus will happen. People will just revert to old style of posting, like me, just not post or lurk anywhere near as often as using old mobile site allowed.

I think site usage will go down but I think maybe it's measured by FB 'likes' and 'retweets' these days ? So maybe not show as a loss ?

Me too Lweji mosp got my msg this morning TWENTY TIMES!!! I am now using the desktop site.

On the new mobile site I can't see how to flip threads - anyone know? Also how to bookmark, which I've never managed to get working for me on either mob or desktop sites. Can anyone advise?

Hang on, just to be clear.

Is that once you have selected TIO, or do you have to be on the actual thread you are watching to be able to unwatch ?

Does that make sense ?
