Hi all,

As you know we have launched the new mobile site, we know it's a big change and we are still very keen to get it right with your help. This is very much a version that will evolve with your help as part of the testing process.

There have been a few glitches that have/are being ironed out and the HUGE thread has nearly maxed out, so we thought it best to start a shiny new one.

We know change is tricky but, as with most things MN, we are all ears and happy to look at any feedback you have on ways we can improve the new site.

Thanks all Thanks

My bookmarking has broken again.

S5 phone

bearfrills · 22/08/2014 11:49

And battery still too, posting that one line cost me 4%

RowanMumsnet · 22/08/2014 11:54

@regularbutpanickingabit

Please can you look in to the repeated need to log in even when you have ticked re box that means you shouldn't have to?? Has been a problem since the mass password reset and despite posting meekly about it then (several times) and here, it just seems to be ignored. So frustrating and it screws up everything very time iOS 7, iPhone 5s

We will look at this - the problem is it seems to be really patchy and only happens to some people. As far as I know we still haven't worked out what the common factor is. This may need a different thread (or a revival of the previous thread we had about this)

MultipleMama · 22/08/2014 11:54

Samsung S3 Mini
Latest Android for my phone.
Latest Chrome.

When I press the "hide this thread" it knocks off the drop down, when I go back on the drop down the above option is not available so I assumed it worked, yet when I go on my TIO, the thread is still there.

Also, all the threads I have hidden on the desktop version on my laptop (which are still hidden, weirdly) are all appearing on the mobile version.

And the same complaint as most; need recent posts on TIO and a thicker line to separate posts and a block for username, date, time, etc to go in to break up the awful white.

I think many prefer the old version because the blue background for buttons etc broke up, so it didn't hurt the eyes as much. Also, how about an off-white/blueish white, instead of the white which is still a little glarey on my phone.

crabb · 22/08/2014 11:55

Can someone tell me where the bookmark option is? I can't see it. iPhone 4s, ios 7.1.

RowanMumsnet · 22/08/2014 11:56

@SwedishEdith

Oh, and where's the option to get rid of the social media buttons (I know there isn't one so phrasing it in a deliberately provocative manner)? I can see about 2 posts per screen. Another non-improvement

We will look at the social media sharing options, but we want to fix actually broken stuff first.

livelablove · 22/08/2014 11:57

Well not sure if it is a coincidence but I do have a bit of a headache Wink.

tech are working on TIO right now.

Is bookmarking still working for people other than bearfrills?

The most annoying thing currently is that when my phone turns from portrait to landscape, it jumps up thread. This is fine and has always happened BUT when I turn it back to portrait, instead of adjusting back to the post I was upto (which it used to do!!!) it now jumps to a random place up thread and I have to scroll to find it.

The white is still not broken up enough to make it easy for my dyslexic brain to read - it is better than the stark white which had me unable to read at all, but still a bit of an effort and an eyestrain.

I agree aswell about the line and paragraph spacing - it looks double spaced! It's a forum not a thesis Wink

Wine and Cake for you all, this must be a shitter to sort out...

SoonToBeSix · 22/08/2014 11:59

Also and I know I have mentioned this before but the white is still here I thought it was meant to be a priority . If MNHQ could just confirm it will be changed even if it takes time to do it . I can relax Grin

Hit the ellipses/three dots menu on the bottom right of the post; bookmark is one of those options

Accessibility is definitely a priority. We need our UX expert to take a look and unfortunately she's on holiday, but when she's back we will take a thorough look. Promise.

It's not on my ellipse menu Sad

Re accessibilty, this page is OK for me because your posts in blue break up the glare and whiteness that lots of us have mentioned.

I don't want to speak for everyone but if the posts are broken up colour wise it is better than the expanse of white, and easier to read.

Maybe some of my fellow mnetters could suggest colour/s that would be helpful ? Just thinking of a chat I had yesterday with LEM re white not being the best for some dyslexic posters ?*

100% agree with this.

Reading MNHQ's posts are really easy and smooth. When I scroll and I'm faced with nothing but text and whiteness, my eyes sting and squint. Then I reach my post (which I have in a light purple) and MNHQ's posts, my eyes feel amazing again. The white and all the space between text is too much.

I wear glasses for TV and computing and my eyes are quite sensitive to changes in light and brightness, so reading through threads that are only white and text is proving quite difficult and headache inducing.

Hmm. What device, browser and operating system are you using?

DomesticSlobbess · 22/08/2014 12:05

Oops, bold fail.

An "edit post" option would be nice MN Grin

mypussyiscalledCaramel · 22/08/2014 12:07

Crabb You have to go onto the desk top site. Go into customise and click yes, then save.

Not sure this is an issue for anyone else (anyone?) - it may be because you're using a fairly old iPhone model and iOS. Sorry to be 'computer says no' about it, but realistically we need to prioritise the device/OS/browser combos that most people use (which tend to be the more up to date versions).

mypussyiscalledCaramel · 22/08/2014 12:13

Is there a refresh button somewhere that I'm missing? At the moment I have to go to TIO then come back to the thread
