Hi all,

As you know we have launched the new mobile site, we know it's a big change and we are still very keen to get it right with your help. This is very much a version that will evolve with your help as part of the testing process.

There have been a few glitches that have/are being ironed out and the HUGE thread has nearly maxed out, so we thought it best to start a shiny new one.

We know change is tricky but, as with most things MN, we are all ears and happy to look at any feedback you have on ways we can improve the new site.

And some people are being rather dramatic announcing that it is awful, unusable and that they are leaving

I have not said I'm leaving but if I find it impossible to use then it will be night time use only on my computer. I do find it awful and practically unusable so why not say so?!

I have come on my laptop specially to read this thread and I'm confused. Have MN said why they have changed the mobile site in this way?

It functioned fine. Most posters used it in preference to the app which is a pile of steaming shite and should have been updated before anyone dicked with the mobile site!

itsallgoing yes but that means I have to actively bookmark it.
I got annoyed with bookmarking on the main site within about a week of it being introduced, because i'd have to bookmark the latest post every single time I left that thread or pressed refresh otherwise it would ping back to my last bookmark.
it was terribly annoying so I stopped using it.
it needs to be done every single time without fail and I just don't have the muscle memory for that.

Start telling HQ and Tech what you need to be remedied so that you don't have to squint.

I have no idea if they are working late, or if that's it for the day, and they all buggered off home at 5, but assuming there is more fixing to do tomorrow, tell them what you need and hopefully we will end up with a site for all.

Nope. Just that they have been testing it for 6+months and we will all love it eventually.

RebeccaMN and ShamTech have been working their socks off trying to sort things out and help.

A poster was a tester and said that there have been many complaints about the old site, but I can't find any.

And I agree that needing to remember to bookmark eveytime is a pain as often people are using the mobile site while doing other things and don't get the chance to bookmark before leaving the site.

I'm afraid I hate it. Have been using it for 10 mins and now have a headache and a sore thumb because I have to scroll so much.

Too much white, I'm on an iPhone and have a ridiculously small amount if text.

Why no Show all messages? I always do that so I can scroll through long threads looking for the OP's highlighted texts (which I suspect is also missing).

I know it sounds dramatic but this has upset me a bit. I truly love Mumsnet, but this is so swful, I think I may gradually fade away. Not flounce!Wink

I thought it was just me, yesterday, switched off and hoped it would be all back to normal in morning.

Completely understand need for adverts.

But, like others,

White background awful for migraine, dyslexia etc. I'm getting severe eyestrain.

Have old HTC. Can't afford to replace. I don't seem to get half the things others are getting, prob because I am technocrap. So I need guidance, please.

I like the short cut bar in theory. But I want to put it where I want to put it. I don't want it suddenly cutting off MrsV in full flow. And it's disobedient. I have put it back in its round box several times and it keeps coming out again. Shamtech, pl can you apply tough love?

Love the emoticonsWink. But the floating advert cuts half of them in half. I assume there aren't any hiding from me.

If I'm going to have to play with a desktop to find stuff, I just won't.

Also, when I go into a thread on active, it takes me to page 1, not the latest. Ditto for threads I'm on. Pl can you sort? And I did prefer to know the number of posts rather than pages. Sham , pl can you sort?.

I keep getting a blue bar with options on it that blocks most of the op.

There are random empty boxes and circles everywhere - I don't know what they are for.

When its all fixed you should be able to go to customise to highlight ops posts. Not sure about choice of colour ?!

You do have the option of 500 or 1000 posts on a thread. I agree, I'd prefer 'show all messages', that may be something we get later on ?

Stick with it, I have hope that all may not be lost !

the random empty boxes hsve icons in on some devices.
my device only shows about half of the icons in the random blank boxes.
at least in the blue bar we have words as well as pictures.

Yoohoo Tech I have an actual techy problem (as opposed to medical/stylistic/idealistic)

As you can see on the Windows Phone screenshit, the dropdown menu after I have bookmarked goes batshit all over my screen which I cant rectify without shutting the tab and starting again.

(The fact I had to email the screen shot from the Nokia to the samsung tablet to actually post it since the nokia denies the existence of attachments on MN we'll just out aside for now eh?)
