Hands up everyone who wants to try out the BRAND NEW MUMSNET MOBILE SITE

Hello comrades

As lots of you will know, we've been developing a brand new, souped up version of the Mumsnet mobile site for seven geological eras quite a long time now.

We can now exclusively reveal that the new mobile site is... TOTALLY AND UTTERLY ABOUT TO BE RELEASED, LIKE, ANY TIME NOW.

We've tested it on loads of MNers ( to those who have helped out) but inevitably there will be glitches that only reveal themselves once tens of thousands of you dive in and start using it - so please use this thread to let us know about those (with the usual info about browsers and devices).

And if you like it, please pass along and to ShamTech, BrunoTech, JessicaMumsnet and all the other techs and MHQers who have been working their digits off on this.

The new improved apps are coming, honest... but in the meantime, if the old apps are driving you bonkers, do please take the new mobile site for a test drive.

That is weird. Leaves one feeling rather dizzy and uncertain - Alice down the rabbit hole-ish.

And if I click on active this is what I get! That's bloody helpful. (2 and a bit on the screen, stickies so not even interesting active convos). I'm going to get some scrolling injury from all the scrolling in going to have to do!!!

Hm... but on "threads I'm watching" I can't click on a certain reply to take me near the bottom, when I click on it, it just opens the thread.

Erm where flip?

If I bookmark a post it sends me back to the top of the page - other than that its great

Also how can you tell where you marked your place? The previous one of showing last 5 / 10 however many posts was really useful as you could click on one of those and be at the end of the thread. Now you have to wade through however many hundreds of posts to get to your place or the end

I don't like the big white stripe down the right hand sidetof the screen. It seems wasteful somehow.

Im not a fan either. I know it's a free site and I can vote with my feet and ye can do whatever, but if you want an opinion, here's one.

There was nothing wrong with the old layout. I know one of the main reasons I post here is because I can't be doing with faff and fuss on a site. The old way was perfect. No need to change

There is fatlr too much white space. I'm having to do a lot of scrolling for very little content.

Oh. It's gone now anyway. As you were.

It's very shiny, but I really need to be able to jump straight to the end (or to a chosen post as before) of threads I'm on and watching. Can't be doing with scrolling around looking for a familiar bit.

I quite like it. I do have a Note 2 though so my screen is huge. It wouldn't be good on a smaller phone as you wouldn't see as much text.

The one thing I've found so far is it doesn't say 'bookmarked' so I can't see which post I bookmarked.

That's how much page I have.

I only get one and a half messages on my screen now, the O2 advert takes up to much space and is very annoying. It's very white.

I do like the smiley button and the text button though, how would I do a link on this new page?

If you click ellipsis at bottom right of post you can bookmark there (but it will send you to top of the thread).

Agree with some other posters though - it looks ace on my tablet but not so good on phone - not all icons showing up/ odd scaling so you can't see many posts in Active Lists.

This is awful. I eventually found "customise" & clicked on "highlight OP posts" but it doesn't seem to work - the posts are not highlighted.

Also, where has the "Top" button gone? I relied on that, saved lots of scrolling.

And why isn't the OP post repeated at the top of every page any more? That was v useful too.

Please just put this down to a failed experiment & change back!

(Admittedly, I don't deal well with change - I have Aspergers.)

And I can barely see the photos that posters have added - is there any way of enlarging them?
