I'm obviously incredibly relieved. But massively disturbed. How did that happen? Is SP ok?

So glad this was not real but what a grim thing to troll about! Can someone confirm that the thread about the baby who died falling off a sofa was also fake as someone mentioned up thread? That one really bothered me and stuck in my mind.

Mogz · 24/02/2014 19:55

Agreed Corus I heard a good saying today 'everyone is fighting battles you know nothing of, so be kind'.
Very glad for the swift actions of MNHQ and to hear that all s actually well.

MoominsYonisAreScary · 24/02/2014 19:55

Yes lemon, that was a previously banned poster too

BertieBottsJustGotMarried · 24/02/2014 19:56

It was weird as well, because I didn't recognise the namechange and searched it. Was the only post with that name, which I thought was odd because it was just a bizarre choice of namechange to announce something so tragic.

When it was clear that it was a troll I searched "tude" and the last month (sorry to be slightly stalkerish!) and it became clear that the troll had changed just one letter so that the username read exactly the same, but of course, to the system was a totally different name.

ThatVikRinA22 · 24/02/2014 19:59

im late to this but was going to say this could be dealt with as malicious communications - its not crime recordable but IS an offence that can be dealt with via a fixed penalty fine.

that would stop the stupid bugger. (hopefully)

justine - give it a whirl. if you can identify the poster then mal comms fits.

lemontwist · 24/02/2014 19:59

Thanks Moomins.

BrokenBananaTantrum · 24/02/2014 20:00

So glad it was not true derek
I don't post a lot but I was gutted for you.
I am very disturbed by this troll. Utterly shocking.

PoorOldCat · 24/02/2014 20:00

I'm really sorry if I shouldn't have posted a link on the other thread asking about this subject. I noticed it juxtaposed with this one in AC and thought it best to send them all over here.

Sorry if it has caused any further issues x

LEMmingaround · 24/02/2014 20:02

Corus - i agree with you, however, it would appear that this poster has posted (if indeed it is the same poster) in a similar vein before. Had it just been a vindictive post against SP, then i would have been of the opinion that actually this person is just a cunt - it may well be that they are simply a cunt, pure and simple, but it may well be a sign that this person is suffering in some way? either way - i think the police is the right way to go then if it is someone who needs help they will get it, if not, they will hopefully be put off being a trolling cunt again.

I do suffer from mental health issues (anxiety and depression) but not necesarily a diagnosable disorder. It is a complex issue i think.

QueenFuri · 24/02/2014 20:03

I don't think I've spoken too you but my blood ran cold our DS's are about the same age. I so glad your both ok.

That arsehole troll needs dealt with its the most disturbing thing I've seen in my 5 years semi lurking on mn!

PoorOldCat · 24/02/2014 20:04

Just wanted to say, Broken Banana Tantrum, you still have one of the best ever names on here - I remember someone saying that on a thread in about 2007!

HanSolo · 24/02/2014 20:05

Thanks moomin, fruOlaR, zombie. Brain not engaged yet!

lemontwist- MNHQ had already said the baby off sofa thread was trolling, so yes, was fake.

How sad that people have so little in their lives that they need to 'enliven' them by making up stuff like this. Bereavement is the worst time for anyone, without having to try to be heard over bloodsuckers like that on the boards. Trolling bereavement really is the lowest of the low, something beneath contempt.

Using a real MNer as their cover is even worse, as most people are emotionally involved with the story, particularly when the poster is a v well-known one.

I really do hope MNers will keep supporting those on 'bereavement', despite incidents such as this, because the people on there need empathy, sympathy and support, and we must not let emotional leeches win. I consider myself extremely fortunate that I've never needed to post on there for support, but I know many, many MNers will need to at one time or another.

Thanks to all those that do continuously support other MNers (whichever board it may be)

And Thanks to SP, because you're probably in need of a pick-you-up this evening.

PoorOldCat · 24/02/2014 20:05

(sorry for hijack Blush but she is never here so I had to say it now)

RobinSparkles · 24/02/2014 20:16

Shock Fucking hell!

I can't believe people can stoop so low! I'm glad I didn't see the thread. What an awful thing to write!

I love reading about The 'Tude, I'm so so relieved that he's his usual cheeky self.

I can't believe there are such low life cunts.

gertiegusset · 24/02/2014 20:20

You must be so upset and raging Derek, hope you're ok.

ExitPursuedTheRoyalPrude · 24/02/2014 20:22

I even messaged the Woolly Hugs.

I am so relieved.

And so angry.

Big hugs to you and the Tude Derek.

LisaAYarrow · 24/02/2014 20:27

I suspected it was a troll when I read the title alone, just because the op was writing like a mills and boon novel. But I think mainly I didn't want to believe it was true as it was so horrific. I hope this person can be prosecuted.

bemusedisnottheword · 24/02/2014 20:34

omg I posted on that thread Shock, It did cross my mind that it was a troll but instantly dismissed it. Ive been thinking about her all evening and now found out that it was some sick bastard trolling.

Thank god sp's son is ok. I've been on mumsnet 11 years and that's got to be the sickest troll I've come across Angry

PortofinoRevisited · 24/02/2014 20:38
