PMSL!

"Perhaps she is just at that age where she needs to test the boundaries. Or maybe she didn't have her afternoon sleep."

From the Daily Mail...oh this is going to be fun

(And, of course, serious, but still...fun...)

ck1 · 08/08/2006 09:56

Gulf Times
Childcare expert tries to shut website over ?slurs?

melrose · 08/08/2006 09:57

Nobody gets much sympathy from what I can see.

heavenis · 08/08/2006 10:07

Agree with hunker. The Mails line is very good.

MrsBadger · 08/08/2006 10:10

Telegraph
Baby expert stamps her foot at website chat

hunkermunker · 08/08/2006 10:12

A piece on mumsnet in the Telegraph too

I have more and more questions about why this course of action has been taken by this woman...I'm cynical, shall we say. A very tiny corner of me feels a bit sorry for her. Nearly.

Marina · 08/08/2006 10:13

Saw the DT this morning and am really enjoying the Mail's take on this. something I never thought I'd say either! Good stuff, DM!

i dont think i was part of any previous discussion on this matter but can i just say..."WHAT"???
just because someone expresses their opinion sarcastic or otherwise, it does not mean everyone believes and then lives by that comment nor does it mean such a wonderful website should cease because somebody didnt like what they heard.
how many of us have flounced before?..i have but thats as far as i took it..ive been accused of being many things but that doesnt mean i 'AM' any of them?!

and for such people who embrace children and childcare in their proffesionand life, why would flash in the pan comments and jokey banter amongst' friends' mean that the lifeline that is mumsnet should close down completely leaving many mums(and dads) without any form of support on issues which have nothing to do with methods of bringing up children?..depression, going back to work, recipies, travel and so on...so many important and not so important isssues that we have been able to work through together.
it beggers belief and i didnt actually think what i have read was serious.

hunkermunker · 08/08/2006 10:16

DH says there's a bit in Metro too.

HOW does SWMNBN think that this action will make for less derogatory mention of her?!

puff · 08/08/2006 10:23

ooh, I seemed to have missed a ruck !

However, at long last I can proclaim my long standing love of the Daily Mail. Loathe the paper's politics but it is so damn entertaining.

This is all marvellous - what a wonderful feisty lot of women mumsnetters are!

Crystaltips · 08/08/2006 10:31

Yup all funny Ha Ha ... but is there a chance that MN will have to stop

morningpaper · 08/08/2006 10:32

Ooh I AM quoted in the Gulf Times:

"They cited a series of attacks including one posting on a discussion board dated July 21, in which is accused of strapping "babies to rockets and firing them into south Lebanon"."

I didn't actually ACCUSE HER of...

Must arrange lunch with Max Clifford

Pisces · 08/08/2006 10:41

Think there might just be a lot of interest in nobody's web-site too - impossible to get on it at the moment!

MissyCocker · 08/08/2006 10:41

Excellent.

She's not going to win this one.

I hope.

Cappucino · 08/08/2006 10:42

good heavens I never realised I was 'stung by the intense boredom of raising young children at home'

poor me

hunkermunker · 08/08/2006 10:42

Does anyone subscribe to any parenting fee-paying websites and can they...er...well, I wish I could read their forums or C&P from there...and my email address is hunkermunker at gmail dot com

wheelsonthebus · 08/08/2006 10:50

'stung by the intense boredom of raising young children at home' ....i have definitely been there

LadyTophamHatt · 08/08/2006 10:57

I bought the daily mail and The Times today.

I've never bought The Times...and felt all clever and intelligent putting it in my shopping basket.

Marina · 08/08/2006 10:59

A fair number of us are stung by the boredom of having to remain civil to/interested in clients and colleagues too instead of being at home digging playdoh out of the carpet, sigh

piglit · 08/08/2006 11:00

Shall we nickname her Queen Flounce? This has to be the biggest flounce ever.

puff · 08/08/2006 11:00

rofl LadyT

When I was little I was always sent to get the Sunday papers, and also used to get them for a neighbour. His usual read was The Sunday Mirror, but it was sold out, as were all the other tabloids, so I got him The Sunday Telegraph. He complained to my Mum that it took him 2 weeks to read it .
