If Fathers for Justice invade again

will they still be welcome?

I'm referring to the thread in the Feminism/Women's Rights section -

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/a1419965-Agenda-much

where Justine said:

"an invasion - ie let's go on and tell those mumsnetters why they've got it all wrong - isn't necessarily the same as trolling tbh (ie deliberately misleading/antagonising). I think we ought to be able to be robust enough to be able to debate the issue, with the caveat, of course, that if visitors turn out merely to be here to wind up or hear to spread hatred then they are not welcome"

It appears that as long as they promote their agenda in PARD then no harm done. Is that a fair assessment?

"Mr Harris has manipulated the press by feeding it tendentious accounts of these proceedings, enabled to do so because he has been able hypocritically to shelter behind the very privacy of the proceedings which hitherto has prevented anyone correcting his misrepresentations."

bezopt.

That M&S letter is brilliant. Like a parent refusing to get involved in the children's squabbles. Which is ironic given the names involved...

NormaStanleyFletcher · 13/03/2012 22:29

Oh my - they are going to demonstrate outside MnS on oxford street on saturday

Say pants to M&S apparently

And all about the 'Anti-Male Hatred' by mumsnet.

Never let it be said that they avoid tabloid capitalisation of a word when it Could Have Been Avoided

GrimmaTheNome · 13/03/2012 22:43

And all about the 'Anti-Male Hatred' by mumsnet

Right. This is forum on which the commonest way of referring to a men is DH, DP, DB, DF. The D is for 'Dear'. Most of us mean it.

LineRunner · 13/03/2012 22:46

Most of my hours today were spent talking at length to my dear father, and helping my dear son with his school stuff and washing and chatting.

solidgoldbrass · 14/03/2012 00:44

Ooh, shall we go along and point and laugh?

AliceHurled · 14/03/2012 07:45

Oh so conflicted! M and S are still in my boycott list after Hooters. What to do?

YuleingFanjo · 14/03/2012 10:09

please can someone explain what the issue is with M&S?

what happened with hooters and M&S?

HandDivedScallopsrgreat · 14/03/2012 10:42

M&S sub-let a a unit where they originally had one of their food stores, to Hooters in Bristol. Hooters have now shut down that franchise in Bristol though due to not enough interest!

PosiePumblechook · 14/03/2012 10:57

I would love to go along as a big pair of Mumsnet pants! Or take my husband and sons with a placard saying that they, as feminists, love Mumsnet!!!

AliceHurled · 14/03/2012 11:39

How did you miss that SAF? It even made it onto the highlighted threads listing.

mcmooncup · 15/03/2012 18:46

Justine rocks.

My favourite bit being "Sent from my iPhone"

TeWihara · 16/03/2012 15:18

I can't even find them on fb, so high is there profile Hmm

Ben Goldacre tweeted his Confused over this campaign earlier too.

TeWihara · 16/03/2012 15:28

and a load of other people... the vast majority of tweets say WTF? so I think the say nothing technique is doing just fine!

If the family system was fair open and honest then perhaps there would be no need for Fathers4Justice - In my case the divorce judge seemed fit to award my ex-wife £1.1m to include a £850,000 mortgage free house - what did I get? £15,000 legal bills - as the system states that my ex-wife could get 100% legal aid - £15,000 worth of credit card bills my ex-wife run up duing the legal proceedings - A system which allows in my case my ex-wife to not adhere to 19 of 22 court orders stating that I could see my children - on the 3 occasions that she did allow me contact she knew that cafcas would be present.
Each time that i went back to court the judge simply re-issed a new contact schedule which she didn't adhere to!
A system which,

  • does not penailse mothers for not adhering to any court orders
  • took every last possession which I worked for in my 16 years marriage
  • made me take out a huge mortgage to provide for my new wife and child - a mortgage I wouldn't have needed if the system gave me a mere 10% of the marital assests!
  • allows the CSA to take 20% of my monthly salary not taking into account living and travelling expenses, and allowences for my 6 years old child from my new marriage

By all means taget fathers who dont want to be part of their childrens lives - but for god sake dont target fathers who thanks to the laws of the land give mothers £1.1m and still expect them to run two households - and fathers who are desperate to have contact with their children and the law and mothers wont allow

When was the last see mothers fighting for injustice?

pelboy · 18/03/2012 12:55

ever tried google? fathers for justice facebook?

swallowedAfly · 18/03/2012 13:05

all about the money it seems.

Pelboy. In what way are you holding MN or m&s responsible for that?

I presume that she is entitled to stay in the house with the children as that is where they are used to living. Would you want them uprooted and moved to a different house/area? I thought it was usual to let the ex stay in the marital home until the youngest us 18 and then sell/split the asset.

And the money stuff is completely separate from the access. One should not depend on the other.

pelboy · 18/03/2012 13:11

no I think you will find that it is not about the money it is about the total injustice of the system which allows mothers to get away with defying the courts - playing the 'I have been subject to a violent husband card' (which was not the case in my case) - it is about not being able to see my children for 10 years

NormaStanleyFletcher · 18/03/2012 13:19

If it is all about the access why did you feel the need to tell us all of the irrelevant financial details?
