If Fathers for Justice invade again

will they still be welcome?

I'm referring to the thread in the Feminism/Women's Rights section -

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/a1419965-Agenda-much

where Justine said:

"an invasion - ie let's go on and tell those mumsnetters why they've got it all wrong - isn't necessarily the same as trolling tbh (ie deliberately misleading/antagonising). I think we ought to be able to be robust enough to be able to debate the issue, with the caveat, of course, that if visitors turn out merely to be here to wind up or hear to spread hatred then they are not welcome"

It appears that as long as they promote their agenda in PARD then no harm done. Is that a fair assessment?

Saf, I think their stance is that the courts and cafcass are over-run with feminists and are biased and anti-men and corrupt and the lawyers are only interested in court because of the money and and and

NarkedPuffin · 11/03/2012 17:40

All they need now is a picture of Germaine Greer on a grassy knoll ...

swallowedAfly · 11/03/2012 17:47

courts over run by feminists - yes that'll explain why rapists and pedophiles and dv perpetrators have such a high conviction rate and are given such long sentences! oh wait......

Someone pointed out that a poster in their comments section was using a Justine 'quote' from an April Fools article. They deleted that comment and let the one with the quote stand. Surely that's deliberate misrepresentation? But they would never do that, would they?

Onesunnymorningin2012 · 11/03/2012 18:26

Surely not, NP.

In one of the comments yesterday someone was hinting they knew one of our posters in RL. Which would also never happen I'm sure...

Ditto CagneyNLacey and we should shout that from the rooftops. All men are certainly not like this.

Btw, how do MNHQ feel about them using and abusing the MN Logo on their despicable campaign posters? Isn't it theirs by copyright?

FrothyDragon · 11/03/2012 19:10

Yes, Turnip. Exactly that.

runningforthebusinheels · 11/03/2012 19:13

I find the imagery of the graffiti'd child as disturbing as the gagged children tbf. Their marketing/graphic designer has got it so so wrong.

SmellsLikeTeenStrop · 11/03/2012 19:33

they're back trolling the mumsnet page. They're complaining that mumsnet is called MUMSnet and not something more inclusive, kind of ironic coming from folk who are part of an organisation called FATHERS4Justice. They really are very very stupid.

the written over child is amazingly 'wrong'. they're labelling the children of single parent families with stereotypes Confused how is that good for their children?

they seem to have no sense of responsibility towards children from the looks of their campaign materials. porn imagery on one and the promotion of prejudice against boys raised in lone parent families on the next.

mind boggling. and this is their way of attempting to show they're responsible parents despite courts thinking otherwise?

The earlier one aimed at mumsnet was quite enlightening.

They say

''Because of the extreme hatred, prejudice & bigotry that demonises men and boys on websites like Mumsnet, Matthew has been condemned to a lifetime of discrimination. He will grow up without the love and care of his father. He will create his family on the streets in a gang. He will riot. ''

IOW, children of single mothers will join gangs, riot and become all those other horrible things scrawled over the body of that child. They're shit mothers basically who are incapable of raising a little boy to be a decent human being. It's a horrendous attack on single mothers, and a catastrophic own goal. You can't style yourself as an organisation which is gender neutral and takes the part of both mothers and fathers when you attack single mothers and brand them as shit parents.

swallowedAfly · 11/03/2012 21:22

nor can you say you have the best interests of children at heart when you're willing to promote incredibly damaging stereotypes and lies about them and their fate.

swallowedAfly · 11/03/2012 21:25

shall we just point out once more (for the haters) - in a single mother family if the woman has a degree or higher in education OR is a high earner her children have the same prospects as those of a married parent family.

poverty and lack of education of parents are what correlate with bad outcomes for children - not marital status.

BasilRathbone · 11/03/2012 21:29

LOL actually I know I shouldn't laugh but really, what crass stereotyping.

You know that bloke who plays Prince Arthur in Merlin?

Son of a single parent.

You know Jon Amici, the basketball player?

Son of a single parent.

You know Alan thingy, the Home Secretary under the last labour government?

Son of a single parent.

You know Lily Allen?

Daughter of a single parent.

Etc. etc.

Someone should tell them they're not doing this child of a single parent malarky correctly. I look forward to seeing Alan Johnson (? Was that his name? - how soon one forgets...) down looting Footlocker during the next riot

swallowedAfly · 11/03/2012 21:35

check out these looting delinquents too basil Smile

swallowedAfly · 11/03/2012 21:48

have been googling children of single mums and noticed not only are a lot of celebrities and success stories from families without fathers loads were raised by lesbians.
