I just don't understand why everyone is getting so upset. Of course breastfeeding should be promoted and encouraged but for lots of women, bottle feeding is better, for many reasons, and they need formula. Campaign to increase the profile of the NCT, or La Leche, or breastfeeding counsellors but I thin it's naive to expect formula companies not to promote their product. The lack of breastfeeding has far more to do with our education and culture then formula adverts.

Blu · 25/08/2005 10:40

yes, actually, I am interested Milkymouth - thank you.

And I am reading all this information, and learning things, and thinking about it - and not upset at all.

Toothache · 25/08/2005 10:41

Is this still going on?

Okay okay okay..... we get it.... its terrible..... its cheeky..... its there! How many threads about it now.

Well.... thanks to all this publicity you lot have given Aptimel, they will surely be getting plenty of hits on their website.

EnidfromtheVILLAGE · 25/08/2005 10:42

sorry

I know you have all done this to death

but it is all new to me

I did think formula advertising was illegal??

compo · 25/08/2005 10:42

I agree with Aloha and Blu - that is really interesting and extremely relevant. Thanks milkymouth

tiredemma · 25/08/2005 10:42

i know that its a subject close to many hearts, but, how many on-going conversations do we really need in active-convo's on the matter?

Tinker · 25/08/2005 10:42

milkymouth · 25/08/2005 10:43

It's not an argument, T'ache, it's a legitimate discussion...only the people wringing their hands and saying 'oh no not again' are getting upset....don't react! I was interested to see milkymouths link.

mumtosomeone · 25/08/2005 10:43

I'm with MUD let it drop!!!!

milkymouth · 25/08/2005 10:44

OP posts:
Tinker · 25/08/2005 10:45

No, no mm, wasn't being cheeky. Think it got lost in other thread.

mumtosomeone · 25/08/2005 10:45

has it not all beensaid!!

EnidfromtheVILLAGE · 25/08/2005 10:45

right, so you can advertise follow-on but by showing the whole range they sneak in the formula too.

Scuzzy.

Sad to think that what we feed our babies is subject to such cynical marketing techniques.

EnidfromtheVILLAGE · 25/08/2005 10:46

no dont let it drop

I am interested

Toothache · 25/08/2005 10:46

Blu - I know its not an argument.... but its still another thread about the same thing isn't it?

I'll go find something else to get my teeth into.

Blu · 25/08/2005 10:46

mts - if you have had enough of the discussion, then you can let it drop, of course - but this is a new link, and i'm interested, thank you, so can i take an interest? you don't have to be here, no-ones arguing on this thread....
