Over the past year or so Dh and I have been pushing boundaries with each other further and further. If your careful and don't do it often and you both enjoy it then what's the problem.

It sounds like everything went ok which means you've probably been following the right procedure. Taking it Slow, lots of lube etc so follow that and you should be fine as long as it is an occasional fun.

I get why somebody would ask on Mumsnet - if you ask on a bdsm forum etc, you're getting responses from a particular set of people, but on Mumsnet you get a cross section. Anyway, to get back to fisting. I have never done it and nor do I want to, but hadn't realised it wasn't safe if done slowly with lube.

Does the whole fist really go inside as far as the wrist? Surely that's very uncomfortable for the fister too, if the sphincter closes round the thin bit of the wrist with all the hand still inside?

lube - and some lubes are specifically designed for this and are thicker in consistency than lubes intended for vaginal use. [obv. lubes compatible with whatever the gloves are made of]

It's not something I've ever done, but I can't see it as being particularly unsafe, so long as you're taking precautions to reduce the risk of infection - hence gloves to stop bacteria transferring and lots of lube to protect the inside of the rectum from being damaged (scratched/rubbed against).
