Brit School KS4 2024

Hi all,

I thought I'd start a thread for KS4 applications for Brit School as my daughter has her workshop and interview this week and I know we will both be anxiously waiting to here afterwards!

She's applying for Film and Media production strand as is really passionate about working within the film industry..

We have no idea what to expect at the workshop and interview at all!

Got our FMP offer letter this morning..
Son wont know yet as he is at school, im not sure how im going to contain myself!!!

Im an emotional wreck..todays the first anniversary of my grandads passing. I just knew id hear something today!

@Pop53 - aw huge congrats to your son! My daughter got an email too when she got her offer so depending whether he has a phone with email on it he may find out. My daughter didn't dare read her email, she wanted to wait till she was home, but her friend read his so was in the middle of a science lesson when he found out!

We got a yes from FMP this morning too! I was on the plane (waiting on the runway!) so not with my daughter so had an emotional cry and very quick FaceTime call to tell her as we started taxi-ing down the runway 😂😂😂 over the moon here :-) I havnt managed to catch up on other messages yet but really hope I get to see lots of good news soon! 🤞🏼😁

I've just heard that the director of Music is off sick so the decisions about the Music Strand could be delayed..

My friend’s son was interviewed for VAD and didn’t get a place but got invited to apply for the production arts course. Has anyone got any experience of being invited to apply for a different course or of production arts? She’s worried about him going through the process and being rejected again and doesn’t know much about the course but can see it might be great. I’m not sure how common it is to be invited to try a different course.

If he's been invited it must mean there is spaces i expect, or they may feel thats more suited. Its an option worth looking at surely?

Yes apparently there are spaces. It sounds a really interesting course so hopefully he will decide to go for it.
