Brit School KS4 2024

Hi all,

I thought I'd start a thread for KS4 applications for Brit School as my daughter has her workshop and interview this week and I know we will both be anxiously waiting to here afterwards!

She's applying for Film and Media production strand as is really passionate about working within the film industry..

We have no idea what to expect at the workshop and interview at all!

Is anyone else on the reserve list for Theatre? Nearly 2 weeks since the acceptance emails went out. I’m hoping there are places coming up. Fingers crossed.

Still waiting to hear regarding the music stream.....

We don't live in London.. i had an interview for a job in Croydon today....so waiting for the news on that too. 😬

I go away Thursday without my daughter for 3 nights - now worrying the no will come when I’m away! But also don’t want a yes to come when I’m away as I want to see her face in person!!! So basically tomorrow or Wednesday please Brit :-) we can’t cope with waiting any longer!

Hi @Roman4864, we are on the reserve list for Dance. I’ve had a nose at the 2023 Brit thread and looks like movement started around mid to late April from what I can see. Also looks like contact came by way of a phone call! 📞

Hope we start getting some happy calls soon 🤞😁

Good morning, just received an email my son is on the waiting list for IDD, he’s a little upset as a girl in his class got in. But fingers crossed he gets a space🤞🏽

@Skysti Aw, the reserve list is a great achievement in itself, well done to your son and I hope a space opens up for him.

No updates here (music) but when I login on my mobile, the invite box that says accepted with the meeting date/times etc is duplicated for some reason. It’s probably glitching from me refreshing the page so much!

@ginman I hope you get some good news before you go! Surely it has to be this week, I thought with the KS5 decisions coming out way beforehand, it would make the KS4 ones quicker, but sadly not.

The first thing my DC asks when they get home from school each day is have I heard. And when I say no, they ask if I’m sure 😆. They think I won’t want to tell them if it’s bad news and so I’ll put it off 🥺 (I really wouldn’t).

I just had an email that my son has got a place for IDD. He only interviewed last Tuesday and they said 2 weeks so wasn’t expecting to hear. He applied unsuccessfully for KS3 art 2 years ago so we weren’t getting our hopes up.

@Skysti Well done to your DS. A reserve list place is essentially a yes but not enough spaces. Fingers crossed someone else drops out and your DS gets in. 🤞

@Atmywittsend1 I also have the duplicate box on the application page. That happened yesterday I think.

@Pottingup you said you son applied unsuccessfully for KS3 art 2 years, this year did he apply & get accepted for IDD Post 16?

So it looks like no news for MT yet

Hi yes he did. Maybe IDD is less competitive or maybe more places or they’re looking for different things. He almost didn’t apply as was worried about being rejected again.

👍🏼 This is the most agonising wait! Why does MT take soooo long. They must have definite Nos that could have already gone out ages ago so we know where we all stand whether maybes or yes’s. I want an email but I don’t 😂

Agreed @Millsy82 ! This is what I have been wondering. Why did VAD find out in February - FEBRUARY! - and we are still waiting!? Why?!

@Millsy82 totally agree almost 4 weeks of waiting. I have to stay positive for my DD. We have discussed possibilty of not getting in as well. Because you wait this long and you dont get the news you are looking for.
We have given ourselves end of March to ease our anxiety.

Yes we have the double meeting time popped up on application page. Waiting to hear for Music Strand. Really hoping some positive news comes for my son soon!! The wait it painful! 🙌🏻

We know the chances of a yes are slim cos we're outside of London.
Just need to know now though.....as I have this job offer in Croydon now too.....

@AliWhiting congrats on the job offer! how perfect it would be to combine that with a Brit offer 🤞.

I just caved and gave them a call to see if there might be an indication of when to expect decisions. They said it’ll be over the next couple of weeks as they are not long back from their half term break 😔. So I’m going to try (probably unsuccessfully) to put it out of my mind for now!
