@Sass22 - sorry you are in WL limbo- I have had friends in a similar situation and it all worked out.
Don't be afraid of telling the schools you only have WLs- they want families who will take those places straight away if offered and will have you in mind if you've spoken to them etc.

We just got KCS email and DS has been offered a place. This is the first outcome so far for us......a big relief.

Hello, I have followed this thread a bit out of nosiness if I am honest given the awfully worrying experience we had with DD last year (3 schools, 1 waitlist offer and 2 rejections, one before interview).

I wanted to offer a hand hold to any families without a firm place. Waiting lists can move right up to the start of the school year (appreciate that's not ideal but there is hope!)

I would suggest that if your child is on a waiting list, and you really want them to go to the school, then apart from letting admissions etc know suggest your child writes to the head / head of year 7 and tells them how much they want to come. Best of luck.

We are in a similar place to Lolakath19 (different school sets, though). We will reject some offers already on Monday, attend offer holders days for our top schools (need to decide which ones with DD but WHS likely to be in that group) on w/c 20th Feb and aim to release the rest as soon as possible after that.
We are very aware that we are coming out of this process with lots of options and want to ensure that any offers that we decide not to take are quickly passed onto others.

I am completely shocked - DS has an offer for KCS. It was very much an aspirational application for him, so am feeling quite stunned. Harrodian waitlist came through a minute later. Not sure whether to head out for some fresh air or have a lie down. Feeling quite exhausted by all this!

KCS is WL for us, too! Curious about the answers to your questions as I want to let them know but not be too pushy at the same time. Hope other parents can shed a light.

@Sass22 call up and find position on the list and start politely lobbying essentially. The fact you don’t have a place means that they know you will take it if they offer and many parents will start putting their deposits down so will be less likely to then move their child once a place is accepted. They generally are lovely about this so it is important you let them know your situation so they have you in mind. It isn’t a case they just work down their list methodically. Also remember as others have said that there is movement in year 7. In Both my children’s schools 2-3 children at least left every year for various reasons. We are rooting for you.

@Sass22 sorry to hear your news. Your daughter should know that the margin are very small and she has done very well to get on the wait lists too. Which schools are you on the list for?

Hi all, congratulations to all a big big well done!!!
My dd got no offers and 2 WL so that’s us done. My DD is going to be heart broken and still don’t know how to tell her even one offer would have eased the pain. I’m not sure what it was at interview stage that they felt she just was not a right fit. I’ve tried to call admin for FHSS but no answer. I’m really not hopeful that she will get a WL place as there are so many on WL also.

I am sorry to hear this. I would ask for feedback and explain the situation. I am sure they will give you some feedback. Also, for the WL options express your interest (esp if one is your first choice let them know). I know you are aware of this already, but I think it helps if you let them know you are willing to pay a deposit now if a space becomes available. Good luck with everything.

Thank you all for your kind words and support. It really means a lot in this stressful time. I rang the admin team at FHSS regarding the waitlist position and they said they do not have one and will need to hold out until end of the month to see how many waitlist places they will be able to offer.
