Yes, I think it is a good idea to think of ways to support if dc do not get the offers they want or none at all. We already have one offer, so my plan would be to focus on that. Her first choice is G&L and tbh I have no idea if she has a chance for an offer or not! She will be disappointed if she does not get an offer. But she also really likes PHS so I think my plan is to focus on that and celebrate with her on all her hard work. I am hoping we will get lucky tomorrow though with a few offers :)

@justonecat your question about how to break bad news is tricky. My son did two 10+ exams and was unsuccessful in both. Obviously I just said we could try the 11+, which was some solace, but he was disheartened. I suppose you need to put a positive spin on the bad news if that is the case. You may need some thinking time in order to do this. I'm not going to remind my son that it's Fabulous Friday tomorrow, so I can come up with something positive without him demanding information! He might remember though ..

Thank you so much for this amazing thread, you are all amazing!! All the support, kindness and love that has helped us all to get through this dreadful entrance exams. It really has helped me keep my sanity. I know that all our DC have done exceptionally well to get this far and we have to keep telling them how proud we are with them. Good luck for tomorrow ❤️

We have had 3 so far - anytime from 10 am to 4 pm. I do not think there is a pattern

Re passing on bad news my only tip is to remind them that the school they were applying for really wanted to give them a place, otherwise they wouldn’t have got this far. It’s just that some other kid got an extra question right on the day.

@justonecat I wouldn’t go with the ‘bad news’ mind set but more like we doing option b…..the plan is….so looking forward to an exciting future and all the hard work was fab for Year 7 and preparing for secondary KS3…whichever school they join. Or if this is an option 13+?

I think it depends on the school. I emailed FHSS and they said the email would come in the morning. G&L last year sent 10am, so assume the same tomorrow. Emaunel, I thought someone said noon?
