Absolutely over the moon with a Tiffin place for DD, i may be crying rather a lot.

For those who applied and got another school offer - wait until tomorrow, when if you are on the waiting list Tiffin sent out information of where you are on that list / what score they got so you can work out how high up the list they would be.

IODH2023 · 01/03/2023 17:25

@Daydreamscometrue , we did put Tiffin first but my DC was offered a place on the school that was second on the list. So I assume no place at Tiffin.

Many congratulations. It sounds like it is your preferred option by far!

Yes but wait until tomorrow. If you are on the waiting list you would still be offered the second choice school today, you just won't know until tomorrow if that's the case. Good luck.

Shiningsun · 01/03/2023 17:31

Congratulations to those with the coveted grammar school offers. It would be very kind of you to let us know which independent school offers will you be releasing.

Not holding on to any offers here, just so you know! Have already accepted Tiffin :)

Absolutely, and DD had her heart set on it so was so worried about her reaction if she didn't get it. So it's such a relief too!

FlamingoSocks · 01/03/2023 17:59

Tiffin here too!!!! So happy!!

SamPoodle123 · 01/03/2023 18:17

Congratulations @FlamingoSocks @Pleasegrowmore on Tiffin! You must be thrilled!

Congrats!!! I know how it feels! We got it too. I am getting very emotional now. After all Tiffin girls assessment is truly a different (tough) beast.

QuiteAJourney · 01/03/2023 18:32

Congratulations to those with Tiffin (or other grammar) offers.
In addition to the happiness generated by the offers, I think this might lead to further movements towards / to WLs.

Great news on all the Tiffin offers! That really is one tough entrance process given the numbers of applicants involved - your DDs have all done incredibly well. Definitely time for celebrations!

Dallasdays · 01/03/2023 19:36

Yes - very well done to those with Tiffin offers. An outstanding achievement, for sure!

sugarcookie5 · 01/03/2023 21:24

Tiffins girls for us too. Already released St Pauls girls and Latymer Upper.

ChickyD · 02/03/2023 00:17

I have been a longtime lurker through the months of 11+ agony. Thank you to this group for their sense of community, support and honesty.

This morning we won the school “lottery” when our 1st choice school (KGS) moved us from WL to firm offer. We have completed all paperwork tonight and released the other offers we had received (Kneller hall, SWPS and CFC). I hope anyone on WL for these schools gets the same benefit we have had from people releasing KGS offers.

Wishing all our DC’s the best for Year 7 onwards

QuiteAJourney · 02/03/2023 06:58

@ChickyD Such wonderful news! It is a wonderful school. I am sure that your DC will thrive there.

Your message brings home the whole issue of releasing as early as possible, which as you know, became quite heated earlier on in the thread. We released KGS on Tuesday (after much soul searching, we think it is an awesome school) - if we and others have contributed to an early move and less stress to some families, that has made my day.

@Taurus23 honestly we are shocked. I would have preferred that they asked us as parents and not out DC. I don't think he was also prepared for the questions.

Our experience with Emanuel was exactly the opposite which was a relief for us as they offered both of our DCs places.

So sorry about your loss and such a terrible unnecessary experience. Emanuel is a lovely school with a real culture of kindness and space for pretty much any type of child to thrive. Going through 11+ and getting to a school that actually seemed to get to know the kids and care about them was a massive relief. The relaxed and thoughtful attitude continues in the school so I hope your DCs are really happy.

Maplegurl · 29/02/2024 20:18

Hi, I’m in the same position for March 2024. Daughter has been waitlisted for G&L. Our other choice are Latymer U, SouthHampstead and FHS. Unsure yet which to choose. Will release tomorrow after visits. Have given up several other offers. At what point did you hear back from them? On the last day of the deadline before or after? How may students are waitlisted annually at G&L?

Does anyone know if there is a thread for Girls 11+ SW London grammar/private this academic year? If so can someone share the link? Thanks you
