North / East London 11+ for Sept 2022 entry

Hi everyone, I may have missed it but cannot see a thread on this year’s 11+ for North London so thought I’d start one. Is anyone else waiting? Good luck everyone! And for anyone who sat the Forest exam this week, I hope it went well for your child.

I am waiting! Went through it all last year with my eldest but it doesn’t get any easier. Which schools have you applied to?

Ah, good luck to you and your daughter. This is also second time round for us. What schools have you applied for? We’ve just heard our son didn’t get through to interview for Highgate (no surprises there but still disappointing) so now keeping fingers and toes crossed for Forest, which is his top choice anyway. So stressful!

I am also waiting on the Forest result for my DD. It's going to be a long wait! It's our favourite too.... DD found the maths hard and ran out of time, which isn't like her. Did anyone else's DC struggle with timing?

We have applied to Highgate, Habs girls, NLCS and Channing. My eldest is at NLCS so that’s obviously our first choice. Not sure how the entrance exam went. She has a Highgate interview at least.

We're waiting, too. DS didn't get Highgate, which, like @Manchester7 was no big surprise. We're hoping for Mill Hill. He also did Wetherby and UCS.
ps I remember you @Manchester7 from a few years back when my eldest was doing this whole 11+ malarkey. Hope you're well. Sorry that you, like me, are having to go through this again!

I sent an email yesterday to ask about the music scholarship. They replied and said that due to Covid things were pushed back a bit and they will send further information on Wednesday. I assumed that it applied to interview information too but not 100% correct.

Congratulations on the Highgate interview. Our daughter did the Highgate interview a few years ago (and got a place but didn’t take it - she’s at CLSG). The interview was a pretty nice experience overall, with the DT session and the full day of activities. Hope it goes well for your daughter next week.

Yep, we had the same feedback about timings, and we heard others saying the same thing about the maths, too. A nail-biting and long wait - one of the disadvantages of having the interview first, as we are not put out of our misery for ages! Good luck to your daughter. Our son really likes the school so we are keeping everything crossed.

Sounds like you find out the date itself at v short notice - anyone know how it works if you’ve got a clash with another school interview?

You just let them know and they normally accommodate. They do three sessions a day for two whole weeks - I know because they are looking for current parents to help out with prospective parents at the interviews so that we can be there to settle their nerves. Oh the irony!
@L0ndonGirl can I be a pain and ask you how your email was phrased?
“Following the recent…I am delighted to tell you that DD did well in the exam…During the Interview there will be further Maths and English testing”?
You probably think I am mad but I am comparing to last year’s email and inferring all sorts of crazy stuff. I need to get my head straight.
