North / East London 11+ for Sept 2022 entry

Hi everyone, I may have missed it but cannot see a thread on this year’s 11+ for North London so thought I’d start one. Is anyone else waiting? Good luck everyone! And for anyone who sat the Forest exam this week, I hope it went well for your child.

@Stressedmum2010 and others waiting - I feel exactly the same! I’m feeling really nervous and preoccupied and I didn’t think I would be. We have good state options (I keep telling myself) and almost all of DD’s friends will be going state so it really isn’t the end of the world if she doesn’t get in! And yet…
One thing I was pondering today - does anyone know how many SHHS waitlist (if they have a waiting list) and what number they usually get to on the waitlist?

No idea at waitlist on shhs. We are in a similar situation @purpleturtle1 most of my daughters friends are going to state. But the 2 states in Camden are way over subscribed this year. Which is making me more nervous

@Stressedmum2010 which states if I may ask?

We're waiting for the usual suspects. Consortium and a couple more schools.

Parliament Hill and Camden school for girls as it is also a baby boom year apparently

@purpleturtle1 what schools are you waiting to hear from?
Has anyone been through this before? I'm guessing the decisions have already been made

@Stressedmum2010 just SHHS tomorrow. We have state school options to hear from on the 1st March too.

@purpleturtle1 we have shhs and Channing and then state options. Which state options are you waiting for? I just want this to be over now x

@Stressedmum2010 both of the schools you are waiting on had emailed by 9am last year, just to warn you as it is a bit of a shock!

@justanothergirl19 thank you for the info. I'm dreading opening the email. Does your DD go to Channing or Shhs? Any other late tips if all goes wrong?

No, she is at NLCS. Not exactly a tip but something that I witnessed last year was a lot of movement in the week after half term when people started turning down places. The Channing headmistress reminded everyone that a waiting list place is as worthy as an initial offer and the list does move. Which is your favourite? I wish you and DD all the best x

I think my DD prefers SHHS but I like Channing. The headmistress seems to know her stuff. My sister who is a teacher up north said there will be movement. It's just a shame they don't tell you where you are on the waiting list.

Chin up ladies, a waiting list place is not a bad result, might mean yes’s elsewhere. Similar timings to last year in communication it seems.

DD got into SHHS but we will release the place as DD prefers her other offer.
