North / East London 11+ for Sept 2022 entry

Hi everyone, I may have missed it but cannot see a thread on this year’s 11+ for North London so thought I’d start one. Is anyone else waiting? Good luck everyone! And for anyone who sat the Forest exam this week, I hope it went well for your child.

Sounds the same to me:

Following the recent 11+ Entrance Examinations, I am delighted to tell you that [-] did well in her 11+ written papers and I am pleased to invite her for an interview. The purpose of the interview is to find out a little more about your daughter's aptitude and potential and to give her an opportunity to tell us about her interests. During the interview there will be further Maths and English testing.

Thank you for clarifying - I have been so stressed that I was looking for negativity everywhere. I think it’s interesting that they changed from “very well” to “well”! Maybe it gave people the wrong impression.

Also, last year there was no mention of Maths and English testing (which they do quite a bit of).

Yes - I can see they might have got questions querying why a DD hadnt then got an offer if they did “very well” in their exams. Such a horrible process!

We're waiting, too. DS didn't get Highgate, which, like *@Manchester7* was no big surprise. We're hoping for Mill Hill. He also did Wetherby and UCS. ps I remember you *@Manchester7* from a few years back when my eldest was doing this whole 11+ malarkey. Hope you're well. Sorry that you, like me, are having to go through this again!

I hear good things about Mill Hill. Is your DS sporty, @Jane077? Hope he gets in and that the wait is not too stressful.

Thanks @Manchester7 DS is not exactly super talented at sport, but he's a very rounded boy, loves trying out new sport and extracurricular stuff, enjoys music and drama. He's an easy going, academic-middling, happy boy and I think Mill Hill would be a good fit and he'd really enjoy all the extras they offer. Are you hoping for Forest? Good luck with that. That's another well-rounded happy school from what I hear

Does anyone know what the Habs interview with parents consists of?

We had a 7+ Interview couple of years back, they are trying to figure out you are serious about application and supporting parents for dd - no complex stuff
