Yes thesecondofhername she watches them too and studio Gibli animated films. She wanted to do Japanese but they only did the GCSE at foundation level and no A level. She's into the eastern world!

Stickerrocks · 25/05/2018 21:40

Do either you or DD have an O2 phone Sost as the presale starts on Wednesday. Under no circumstances buy resale tickets through Viagogo, as Ed Sheeran has cancelled all of those and stamped them as invalid, forcing fans to buy face value tickets and fight Viagogo to get their money back. BTS may well do the same.

No stickerrocks O2 has put 2 sites to get tickets from on their website what should we do as neither of us have had experience on buying tickets on line?

Sostenueto · 25/05/2018 21:52

Can we phone 02 directly and buy them sticker?

LooseAtTheSeams · 25/05/2018 21:53

Sostenueto definitely ok, they compare fine. DS did Prelude I think. He wrote 10 pages too so they must both be fine!
I think your dgd and my DS have similar interests by the way. He is learning Japanese in his own time.

cubscout · 25/05/2018 21:55

Ds compared Ozy to Tissue Hmm -no idea why as he said 2 days ago he hoped Tissue would not come up. 'Better revise it anyway' I said.....

Sostenueto · 25/05/2018 21:56

Maybe a potential friend for my dgd then looseWink

Sostenueto · 25/05/2018 21:59

I told dgd to look at tissue too as she said it wouldn't come up too cubscout! She said that would be too hard for the lower sets and wouldn't be fair. She added it was too hard for her tooGrin

Teenmum60 · 25/05/2018 22:00

A couple of DD's friends are into BTS (DD hasn't shown any real interest though). I guess the Aussie band is 5 seconds of summer which DD does like and maybe the US group - All Time Low (which DD went to a gig last year).

Glad everyone had a reasonable week ..DD worked on History all today and doesn't feel like she has made a slight dent in the revision...same again tomorrow (she does seem to know the mark scheme inside out which is a start). Sunday we are out with the family to finally celebrate DD's birthday which was 6 weeks ago!

I think friendship issues are very common in school these days...Dd's friendship group is very fickle and somewhat competitive and probably has more of a negative effect on DD that a positive one ..but here's hoping that Sixth form brings along calmer waters.

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 25/05/2018 22:09

Dd compared ozymandias to exposure. She focused on the power of nature. She said most of her friends chose storm on the island. I don't think it matters that much what they chose as long as they show a good connection. Dd has estimated her grade at a 6 and is delighted Smile. I'll just be so pleased for her if she passes both English papers. So glad one is over.

She's having a much needed weekend off with Ed Sheeran to look forward to on Sunday. Back to it on Monday.

KittiesInsane · 25/05/2018 22:12

DD compared it to My Last Duchess, and said things about the impermanence of human power compared with the lasting mature of art, apparently.
It’s anybody’s guess whether they was a good plan.

Sostenueto · 25/05/2018 22:15

Well on top of everything else I went to docs today because I have been giddy and feeling sick for the last couple of days and tbh i don't know how I got home yesterday after dropping dgd to school. It turns out I have vertigo! Had a laugh with doctor saying I feel drunk and listing to the right and haven't even had a tipple!Grin

hmcAsWas · 25/05/2018 22:18

Dd has just screamed in my face, told me she "hates me so much" and is stomping around in her room angry crying. Meh - must be something in the air

Sostenueto · 25/05/2018 22:19

All different and all right kittie I expect the examiners will be pleased because that's what they wanted from the DC, to think rather than a standard answer. ( not so boring for the exam markers marking the same question over and overGrin).

Sostenueto · 25/05/2018 22:23

hmc is just stress and tiredness she loves you, she really does! Quote from Oscar Wilde ' you always hurt the one you love...'. I've turned into dgds personal punchbag lately ( verbally) but I know she doesn't mean it.

LooseAtTheSeams · 25/05/2018 22:25

Kitties - that's rather deep, I'm impressed! And yes, as long as you can give a reason for your comparison you can choose what you want! Storm on the Island works, too. So does Tissue.
Sostenueto yes! they've chosen similar A levels but DS doesn't think he's clever enough for neuroscience although he's interested in clinical psychology and something called psychopathy, if I've spelled that right!

EllenJanethickerknickers · 25/05/2018 22:26

Hmc, just some power and conflict spilling over into RL, maybe?

DS3 compared Ozy to Exposure, mainly because he remembered a good quote that fitted, apparently. He's currently on Reddit looking at the English Lit thread/s. So, me on MN, him on Reddit! Grin

Sostenueto · 25/05/2018 22:26

Off to bed see u all soon and everyone have a well deserved rest! I have a week of layins!

Teenmum60 · 25/05/2018 22:27

hmcaswas - probably hormones - I had the silent treatment this morning for about 1hr. I must have been such a well-balanced teenager I cant remember being like this ..I can't remember having any outbursts with my mum...although admittedly she was very laid back and I was extremely independent at 16...

Sostenueto · 25/05/2018 22:32

loosedgd chose psychology because she is thinking about criminal psychology or neuroscience. She thought as she couldn't do GCSE psychology she would try the A level to see if its biological or behavioral route she want and she's doing geography as she loves the subject but also in case other routes don't suit and she can still have option to do geoscience. I think I wish you lived close to me our DC would get on well!

AlexanderHamilton · 25/05/2018 22:33

I got a hug tonight & so did Ds (She’s normally very hands off). Think she’s missed us.

Sostenueto · 25/05/2018 22:36

Depending on GCSE results she may drop maths and do chemistry instead. They clash on rota for 6th form so she can only do 1 or the other.

Sostenueto · 25/05/2018 22:37

Bless alexander

mmzz · 25/05/2018 22:43

DS came back from the supermarket with a bar of chocolate for me and an apology. I wish I hadn't posted now!

The only thing to do is put the exam this morning behind him and move on. It's a bit worrying that everyone thinks it was so easy, as it will mean high grade boundaries, but there's nothing that can be fine about it now. DS doesn't know that everyone thought it easy, so what he didn't know, can't hurt him (until August 23rd).

mmzz · 25/05/2018 22:45

9 days left until the exams begin again. History AQA is on the Monday, plus other things??
What's everyone doing regarding a break versus revising?
