I thought I'd feel great that it's all done, but I think I feel a bit worse now! DD came out of both tests feeling happy and that she'd done really well on one and pretty well on the other but you can't tell can you? I just worry that if she's not passed she will feel like a failure when she's never felt like that before. She also really loves the grammar school and will be so disappointed if she doesn't get in.

Well done Bella to your twins and you - such a relief they both got the same result! Grin

MedusaBadHairDay · 12/10/2017 17:20

We've still got to wait for the post on Saturday....or even Monday if it gets held up - I think I will lose the plot of that happens!!

Gileswithachainsaw · 12/10/2017 17:32

God I'm already on the dog house with Dd over tomorrow.this isn't a good sign

bellabelly · 12/10/2017 17:37

Thanks Medusa! Hope the postie comes early on Saturday for you. And, oh no Giles, why are you in the doghouse?

Gileswithachainsaw · 12/10/2017 17:41

Cos she asked if she could open in the car and I said we'd do it at home. Then she wanted to know her score and I was trying to explain that it's not exactly a score and i was just going to tell her whether she passes or not and not tell her the actual number as I didn't want her worrying about it as she worked so hard.

So now she is upset as she wants to know the actual number..

poisonedbypen · 12/10/2017 17:49

Gileswithachainsaw not sure if your question got answered, but Bucks just goes on pass/not pass, so if your child scores 121 or above they are in & it's on distance. It's quite clear on the BCC website/moving up booklet!

Gileswithachainsaw · 12/10/2017 17:51

Thanks:)

shouldwestayorshouldwego · 12/10/2017 18:46

It was a no here. Not spectacularly so, but don't think will make it on appeal. She is disappointed but has an excellent alternative school which some choose over the grammar even if they pass so not the end of the world.

Gileswithachainsaw · 12/10/2017 18:56

Sorry to hear that should

But great there's a very good alternative

believebelievebelieve · 12/10/2017 19:50

Its brilliant you've got a great alternative school should and hopefully it will all work out for the best. Hope your dd is OK.
Good luck tomorrow Giles. Really feel for you having to wait all day for the envelope. Hope it contains your miracle though.

Gileswithachainsaw · 12/10/2017 19:51

Thank you Smile

Wishing everyone still waiting some sleep tonight and happy news tomorrow Flowers

Chocolatecake12 · 12/10/2017 21:21

AFter a long wait we finally got our result and my ds passed his Kent Test.
I’m so proud as he worked really hard.

Gileswithachainsaw · 12/10/2017 21:23

Woohoo brilliant news!! :)

MedusaBadHairDay · 12/10/2017 21:50

Well done Chocolate and all the best for tomorrow Giles
Should it's great that your second choice is just as good as your first by the sounds of it. Fingers crossed for good news continuing!!

bellabelly · 13/10/2017 09:19

Well done to your DS, Chocolate. Fingers crossed for you Giles!

shouldwestayorshouldwego - sorry to hear that. Did it go to HT appeal, do you know? Am sure she'll do brilliantly at school B anyway but might be worth appealing if pretty close? I guess you don't need to decide straight away.

Gileswithachainsaw · 13/10/2017 15:54

No miracle here:(

Gutted. Dd is fine with it at the moment. Bit she doesn't really know how much stress I'm feeling given I'm going to have a huge fight and a long wait to get into a half decent school

shouldwestayorshouldwego · 13/10/2017 16:46

Sorry to hear that Giles but at least she is ok with it.

Gileswithachainsaw · 13/10/2017 16:50

Yeah it's me that's not ok with it..

But thats cos it would have solved everything and we would have avoided a terrible school. Haven't said that to her though don't worry. She doesn't know

MedusaBadHairDay · 13/10/2017 17:06

Sorry to hear that Giles your a good mum not to let her see how much it has affected you - it's so hard to hide I know. We'll find out either way tomorrow and dd really has her heart set on joining her brother.....it could go either way

MedusaBadHairDay · 13/10/2017 17:06

Your're Confused

believebelievebelieve · 13/10/2017 17:10

Really sorry to hear that Giles. Been thinking about you all day Flowers
We are waiting for tomorrow too Medusa. I feel sick. Dd also got her heart set on joining her bid brother and I feel it could go either way too.

Gileswithachainsaw · 13/10/2017 17:19

I hope it's better news for you guys

Thanks for the flowers in off to work do I've got some time to not have to fake it.

She did do pretty well though. Not sure what's considered a good score bit she did better than expected and im.proud if her

mountford100 · 13/10/2017 17:35

Well done or commiserations to everyone's DC that took the 11+ this year.

I am so proud of my little DS passing his 11+. This is despite being an 'Aspie' and being Dyspraxic , like his mother !

His two older sisters should also be proud of themselves for their patience in helping him over the last two years .

Gileswithachainsaw · 13/10/2017 17:45

Oh mount huge well done to your ds!!Star

BertrandRussell · 13/10/2017 17:51

Sorry to hear your news, Giles. It's such a horrible feeling. Does she have friends who "failed" too?
