Hello my son sat the Exam on sat 14th. He found Maths hard . How about your son. I believe second interview letters go out tomorrow. Any info.

Mumtogremlins · 19/01/2017 11:45

Not had a letter yet, keeping everything crossed we don't! My DS is strongest at Maths so found that ok. He sat St George's aswell and found that harder, when it should be easier. Will be waiting for postie tomorrow

Guildfordmum74 · 19/01/2017 13:51

Have been trying to call Mrs Sweet in Admissions but no avail. Just terrible at waiting.

sazzy5 · 19/01/2017 14:24

Every day without a letter is good news. It is the not knowing if the dreaded no's and call backs have been sent yet! It is a very hard process but we will get through it!

Surreyme · 19/01/2017 19:48

Waiting for the post everyday has been torture! Does anyone recall HM saying 'No' letters going out straightaway? Or is it just interview and scholarship letters this week?

Guildfordmum74 · 19/01/2017 20:43

Called up school today and they did say that interview letters will be sent shortly. Hope the post man stays out of my house till February. I think no letters will be sent next week or on the Monday after, going by the threads in previous years. Will know more tomorrow if the interview letter does arrive.

Random2017 · 20/01/2017 09:03

From memory of a few years ago we are into the crunch time now. Letters for call back interviews, scholarships and possibly 'no' letters will be sent out over the upcoming days. Hopefully some who get positive news will post so we know this is indeed happening. If you get through Jan with no letters at all then it should be good news for most. As sazzy5 says no news is good news!

Guildfordmum74 · 20/01/2017 12:15

Hello has anyone heard about the second interview or the No letter yet. No post here today. The second interview letters was def posted yesterday. Will wait another day....not.

sazzy5 · 20/01/2017 17:18

I asked at the school gate but no-one has received anything so far. Just need to get through the post tomorrow then we have a day off of worrying.

OlennasWimple · 20/01/2017 22:49

I understood that no news was good news... I almost don't want to follow up, in case they say "ah, it's a no, you should have got the letter by now". Which I know is illogical....

Greenthree · 21/01/2017 10:31

Nothing in the post today ....has any one heard of the no letters are defiantly being posted on Monday ?

Guildfordmum74 · 21/01/2017 10:35

postman not been yet. Are "No" letters been posted on Monday. Interview letters have to to have received as they start on Tuesday. Wait and watch I guess.

forevermum2017 · 21/01/2017 10:52

Nothing in the post today. Never waited for the postman like this before!

sazzy5 · 21/01/2017 10:53

We've had our post and nothing of any interest in it. When our friends son got called back they received the letter the Thursday after the exam.

Surreyme · 21/01/2017 11:06

No letter fm RGS here either! Think the waiting is worse than the exam process!! But yes no news is good news I guess

Guildfordmum74 · 21/01/2017 11:14

Just hope someone does post to say they have received the interview letter today, it means it's actually happening.

Guildfordmum74 · 21/01/2017 11:18

@sazzy5 did your friends son get in after the call back?

forevermum2017 · 21/01/2017 11:24

Kids who have interviews next week must have definitely received letters today. Unless someone posts a message here to say they have received a letter inviting them for a second interview or scholarship exam .. we will be in the dark! DS did maths and VR great; not so sure about the English comprehension though! Yet another weekend of no-clarity!!

Sassy56 · 21/01/2017 11:29

I don't think they take English as seriously as Maths and VR. Definitely need to have done well in maths though. You are only safe when you know all the nos have gone out. Anyone sitting for 13 plus have the worst time of it all as they can be called back to sit for the 12 plus which has no guarantees at all.

sazzy5 · 21/01/2017 11:38

No he didn't get in but he's doing fine elsewhere.

Mummimoochkins · 21/01/2017 15:01

We got a letter from RGS today asking DS to attend a music audition on 31st Jan as we'd applied for a music scholarship. Do you think this is good news....would they bother asking him in to audition if he was a "no" on the exam (which I feel they must know by his, even if they've not posted the no letters?).

sazzy5 · 21/01/2017 15:21

Hi when my son did the exams 2 yrs ago several boys did the music scholarship but didn't get in-it may have changed though.

Mummimoochkins · 21/01/2017 15:23

Oh, I won't take it as any kind of reassurance then!

sazzy5 · 21/01/2017 15:47

Sorry! It would be nice to wouldn't it! We have to wait until the end of Jan before we 'know' which isn't too much longer. We are lucky the test was so late this year we have a week less to wait than normal!

Sassy56 · 21/01/2017 15:49

Maybe they have to invite them as you've applied for it. But you would think it a waste of time if your son hasn't done well enough in the exam? Who knows?
