Phew hardly breathing as it is - need the lifeline!!!

Ladymuck · 14/02/2012 22:03

Do you think anyone applying to any other school in the country is wondering why these 2 are getting so many posts Grin?

NiceViper · 14/02/2012 22:05

Well I've just noticed you're on to your second thread.

When do they post these results? Are we about to get a slew of posts about non-appearing posties? (Good job no snow forecast!)

Ladymuck · 14/02/2012 22:10

Thursday 16th, so post expected Friday. BUT lots of movement on wait list, opportunities to visit, see if offers can be improved, and for some, waiting to see what the grammar school opportunity is on 1st March. So another 3 weeks to go I suspect!

Caoimhe · 14/02/2012 22:15

Oh now you have a new thread I don't feel guilty about posting and taking up space!!!!

Fingers crossed for everyone for Friday. Just the other day dh and I had a long chat about how happy we are with Trinity and how well Ds is doing. I know that friends with boys at Whitgift are just as happy. So I really want you all to join our "club" - you will not regret it.

Here's hoping that Friday brings the right letters from W and T (and C and any other school you might be waiting for!!!!!)

Inneedofwine · 14/02/2012 22:48

Hi Ladies

Just tried to post onthe other thread but it had just reached 1000 lol. Basically I just wanted to wih you all luck. I followed this thread for a while about a year ago and came across it again a couple of weeks ago. I get stressed just reading it and my DS is only 8 so can't imagine what it's like to go through in reality. I've had my eye on Trinity for him for a couple of years but I'm even more smitten since going to the open day Smile.

Anyway , can't wait to check in on Friday to see the results. I sincerely hope you all get the news you want!

kravings · 14/02/2012 22:59

@Ladymuck...you mentioned above that 'see if offers can be improved' - can offers be negotiated...i.e. in terms of scholarships and bursaries?

Ladymuck · 14/02/2012 23:18

I'm starting to get slightly nervous that W & T are going to find that suddenly this year they are inundated with a significantly larger than average number of parents wanting to visit and discuss their offers next week, and that they hunt me down. But even the very reasonable Soupdragon has already indicated on the full thread that she would look to discuss offers if she got a more favourable offer from her second choice school. These schools in particular have a lot of funds available, and there will be a significant number of boys who reject scholarships in favour of the grammar schools.

You do tend to have a fair amount of nerve though!

stresscity · 14/02/2012 23:24

Phew-found you all! Thanks to all the well wishers. I tell you something, Im gonna need it after last night! Im not going to sleep for the next 72 hours. I actually dreamt that we received a reject letter from Trinity!! OMG, Tell me dreams Dont come true. Sad

stresscity · 14/02/2012 23:28

On a lighter note though, we did receive a letter from Ewell Castle offering Sports scholarship and he did very well in Academic with 2 A's and 1 C, so proud of him to get this far. However, Its TTTTT we really want.
Have fingers and toes crossed for you all-I know how much it means.

stresscity · 14/02/2012 23:29

Oh and a final Flowers as its Valentines day to you Mummys. I actually think I love you all now Grin

stresscity · 14/02/2012 23:30
Thanks
kravings · 15/02/2012 01:11

We are all very nervous and anxious parents...some like me...first time parents who are trying to seek advise from more experienced mums so that we see can make the right decision for our DSs. Some of us can and will ask questions because this whole process is new for us...Some of you have been just wonderful and given us a lot of insight into how the indie system works, some may feel that we are asking a lot questions even when we are not aware of the results...this is what we call reassurance - any thread by which we can hang onto to make ourselves feel better. This thread is successful because of the support we have given each other for the last few months. Hence, Thanks to all those mums who have given their invaluable knowledge to reassure us.

Smile

Hello all. Been following this thread for weeks. DS sat 3 grammars and w&t as back up. However we are increasingly feeling that T will be much better for him (despite the longer journey) so fingers crossed for us and every one else on here for Friday.

Suttonmum1 · 15/02/2012 20:35

Forgot to say that unknown to me at the time I must have been in waiting room when Soupdragon was there for the interview.

frankies69 · 15/02/2012 20:42

It a very small world, good luck Suttonmum1
