Doing a bit better here, have to keep motivated!

Not sure if I should be on here or railing...

Bread. I normally buy a nice uncut loaf/baguette for the weekend and then a wholemeal for sandwiches etc. One day I bought a white toastie loaf as DS likes french toast and wholemeal doesn't cut it.

Then DH and DS kept commenting that it was lovely to have some white bread for toast and butter etc so I started adding in a white loaf and then no-one but me was eating the wholemeal and it was getting wasted.

I have no room to freeze bread. So this week i bought a lovely small loaf of wholemeal (about 60 odd calories a slice), went to get lunch and it's virtually gone. Apparently it makes lovely toast AND it's the perfect size for a poached egg but you need 4 slices as it's very small.....Grrrrrr.

Anyway, forgot to weigh this morning so I'll do it tomorrow. Making Hairy Dieters spanish chicken traybake for dinner tonight. Well worth a go if anyone likes that sort of thing.

Must try harder!

Has anyone tried les mills on demand? Is it any good? It keeps popping up on my FB and seems really reasonably priced.

WeeM · 12/09/2021 17:05

Oh unlike the sound of the hairy biker recipe @ElephantOfRisk, will give that a Google.

The Aldi low cal ice cream was really nice, they do a cookie dough and a salted caramel one. Def feels like you’re getting a wee treat.

I had fish and chips last night but had no lunch and did a circuits class so I’m hoping I’ve balanced out Confused

WeeM · 12/09/2021 17:06

*i like

7.3 miles walking geocaching today, yes not exactly power walking and lots of stopping to hunt but cmon, that's more calories than the 297 my fitness pal says... has to be.

It's this one :

DH is too lazy to deal with whole garlic bits so I just dollop some garlic paste in and I usually do some extra veg (onions/tomatoes/peppers/tatties) and we use that as a side dish with dinner the next day. I've also been known to chuck in a tin or two of pomodorino tomatoes if I don't have enough fresh. I also tend to use Cajun spice as it's a mix of what is in the recipe anyway.

WeeM · 12/09/2021 22:39

Oh that sounds lovely-will definitely give that a go, only 370 cals too!

Yep, there is no added fat, obvs there is a bit coming from the chorizo and the chicken thighs but you are not adding any.

The thing to remember is that spice and flavour doesn't really have calories :) If you are watching salt content etc then it makes things a little harder but I learned last diet that having a little hp sauce or whatever on something adds so much in terms of enjoyment and very little in terms of calories.

shouldistop · 13/09/2021 17:32

So I've gone from eating quite a lot of sugar everyday to next to none. I keep getting stomach cramps, do you think it's related?

janeygodless · 13/09/2021 20:07

I think it could be @shouldistop, I've noticed that keto can mess with hormones and cause bleeding so maybe the cramps are a side effect of eliminating sugar?

janeygodless · 13/09/2021 20:08

I have eaten like a king this weekend, maybe even 2 kings. But it was bloody amazing. Back on it tomorrow.

shouldistop · 14/09/2021 09:42

A pound down Smile that's 8lbs since I started at the end of august. I'm 10lbs lighter than I was when I fell pregnant with ds2. If I lose another 10lbs I'll be back at the weight I was when I fell pregnant with ds1.

ElephantOfRisk · 14/09/2021 12:48

That's brilliant @shouldistop. A pound is a decent amount and if you keep doing well, you could have that other 10lbs gone by christmas. Obviously your priority is still baby DS getting his nutrients but he will be becoming less reliant on your milk for that. Has he changed his feeding habits since you've changed your diet?

shouldistop · 14/09/2021 13:00

Even a pound every other week I would be happy with tbh, as long as it keeps going down.
I've not noticed his feeding habits changing, he still has around 4/5 feeds a day.

ElephantOfRisk · 14/09/2021 13:05

yep, half a pound would be great. I just wondered if he missed the sugar Grin - actually don't know if sugar is a flavour that passes through to your milk anyway in the same way as some flavours were meant to.

shouldistop · 15/09/2021 22:05

How did you all get on today? I had a good day, ate well, walked 4miles with the pram and went swimming.
Really hoping for another pound off by Friday, that would make my week.

WouldBeGood · 15/09/2021 23:20

I’ve done PT, and lifted big weights! but eaten baked Camembert and lots of bread as it’s been my birthday.

WouldBeGood · 15/09/2021 23:25

And well done @shouldistop

ElephantOfRisk · 15/09/2021 23:50

I've kept my portions down at meals but been snacking more, will see what the scales say at the weekend. As for exercise, that'll be a no. haven't left the house since Saturday! oops.

Happy Birthday @WouldBeGood, hope you've had a nice one Flowers

shouldistop · 16/09/2021 09:26

@WouldBeGood happy birthday for yesterday WineCake

WouldBeGood · 16/09/2021 09:28

Thanks @ElephantOfRisk and @shouldistop 😊

shouldistop · 16/09/2021 12:09

@traintraveller how are you getting on? Did you manage to try on your dress yet?

shouldistop · 16/09/2021 16:24

I've done ok so far today. Bran flakes for breakfast then 2 boiled eggs & one bit of toast for lunch (previously would have had 2), carrot sticks & apple for snack. Just making homemade pizza on tortilla bread for dinner.
