Thought a wee separate thread would be handy to keep us all going and for the kick up the bums we need, tips and motivation

Bloating May settle down @wouldbegood - more water needed?

Clothes are definitely my motivation at the moment , I'm really enjoying buying clothes for summer for the first time in forever. An extra half stone would just be sweet though. No snacks today, been good on the calories and will do a bodypump class once dinner is digested.

runningpink · 25/05/2022 20:18

Great news on the outfits @mapleleavesreturn and @WouldBeGood

I done really well with food on Monday, not so good yesterday or today. But will try and get back on it tomorrow.

Exercise going well, although haven’t hit my steps today. But I’m still
on 15k average Over the three days so that’s ok.

Left my water bottle at home today so haven’t drank anywhere near enough water. It’s not as easy to have a glass sitting around at work.

If I could get my lack of work situation sorted that would be a weight off my mind and less excuse to stress snack. Hopefully that can be resolved soon.

Fingers crossed for the work situation @runningpink - big stress snacker here, I've got a grumpy dog on hand today, we went out in sun, it chucked it down and windy, and he doesn't like wind or rain, but is bored.

The weather has been mad - desperate for some consistent decent weather!

TeeNoG · 26/05/2022 14:22

Agree about the weather @mapleleavesreturn. I'm just wondering whether to hang the washing out, but not sure if it will end up soaked or blow away!

Things are ok here! I'm plodding on with the calorie counting and keeping active with a mixture of gym, walking and running whenever I can (not often enough with a 7 year old and a shift working husband).

That said, I'm sitting at a pretty comfortable weight, but would like to lose another stone if possible - and at least a few more lbs before our holiday in July .

Hope you are all well @runningpink @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo @WouldBeGood @mapleleavesreturn

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 27/05/2022 18:36

Quick hello while I recover from bodycombat class. Been a little over on the cals, but not much and have been good on the exercise front.

Weighed myself this morning and just shy of losing a stone since the beginning of the year so I'm really pleased with that. Another half a stone and building up my fitness and strength and I'm be absolutely delighted!

Keep going @runningpink I hope work situation improves soon.

Good luck over the weekend everyone, with all the temptations it brings... 😂

runningpink · 28/05/2022 07:37

I am starving! Had an event last night so no time for proper food. Grabbed a quick sandwich) was hoping for a takeaway on way home but that didn’t happen.

Exercise going ok. Food could do better but an improvement than normal.

Well done @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo and @TeeNoG

runningpink · 30/05/2022 21:18

How was everyone’s weekend?

I didn’t manage any exercise on Sat, I never stopped as had so much to do.
Made up for it yesterday with nearly 30k steps!

Today I have ran and done a hill walk. 27k steps.

I have eaten so much crap over weekend. Same today as picked at left over crap. Plan to get back on it tomorrow

OP posts:
mapleleavesreturn · 31/05/2022 08:09

Ugh sleep deprivation, chocolate consumption, but the work week has gone better.

So hard to stay on track on the weekend isn't it?

mapleleavesreturn · 31/05/2022 08:10

runningpink your step count is amazing - I've hit 20k about 3x since I got my fit bit but most days I try and hit 10....

mapleleavesreturn · 31/05/2022 08:11

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo a stone is a fantastic achievement! Hoping for an outbreak of sunshine here....

runningpink · 01/06/2022 07:20

It’s only as I’m not working full time at the moment I can hit so many
steps.
The days I run I am able to hit them more easily as well.

I just need to master the art of not eating rubbish and actually eat proper meals!

Im considering sighing up for a running event which will involve strict training so I will need to eat sensibly for refuelling and will be doing more exercise so that should help with weight loss as well.

OP posts:
mapleleavesreturn · 02/06/2022 08:40

Nice time of year to train for a running event - ha I'm not full time in the school holidays and I still couldn't do your steps, it's impressive.

runningpink · 02/06/2022 21:30

It helps to break down the steps into smaller chunks over the day. Running really helps me with the steps. 5k/30mins/5000 steps
My wee challenge this month is to hit 10k every day. Why don’t you aim for that as well @mapleleavesreturn?

10k steps Wednesday and no exercise. Was meant to cycle but I was tired and body was sore so listened for once and had a rest day.

Thursday 20k steps, 2.5 mile walk this am and running club intervals session this evening covering 6miles. My legs are not happy.

But today I have been so good and have had no chocolate, cake or bisc!

How is everyone getting on? @WouldBeGood @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo @TeeNoG and anyone I have missed.

OP posts:
WouldBeGood · 02/06/2022 21:40

Your steps are brilliant @runningpink i struggle to do 10K

Ive not had a good week. Got a period again after over a year period free post ablation and I’m feeling miserable and bloated, been using my calories on wine and generally fed up. Been within calories and exercising, but disappointed. I have my motivational wedding to go to on Saturday and just feel fat and horrible

WouldBeGood · 02/06/2022 22:00

Apologies for miserable post. I hope everyone else is rocking it

TeeNoG · 03/06/2022 09:21

Sorry to hear that @WouldBeGood . It's awful when you feel that way. Can you pamper yourself today? Plenty of rest and water, no wine and an early night? Hopefully that will help pick your mood up before the wedding tomorrow. Flowers

TeeNoG · 03/06/2022 09:24

@runningpink well done on all the exercise AND resisting the cake and biscuits! I'm doing OK - plateaued again, but I think that's the time of the month, so not massively concerned.

Went shopping yesterday for some holiday clothes, and definitely felt better trying stuff on than I would have done. If I can drop another few pounds before holiday I'll be delighted.

Had a day off calorie counting yesterday but back to it today, and am going to the gym too.

mapleleavesreturn · 03/06/2022 09:57

A bit too much bank holiday indulgence here too would - agree with tee the boring good caring mechanisms like bath and early night...gloomy grey start to the day isn't helpful!

runningpink · 04/06/2022 22:10

Oh @WouldBeGood what rotten timing! I hope you felt better this morning and managed to enjoy the wedding.

Well done @TeeNoG such a good feeling when you can feel comfortable in new clothes

my resolve for not having chocolate faded yesterday after I got given a box of chocolate which I of course ate straight away! 🤦🏻‍♀️

I did decline cake whilst out today but ended up having chocolate later on!

I am starting to feel uncomfortable with the weight gain, and more lethargic when doing exercise. The extra weight is definitely having an impact on my running.

I need to find some real focus as 100 days ish until my holiday and if still like this I won’t feel comfortable or enjoy so I need to keep this as the goal I think.

it’s so hard isn’t it

OP posts:
WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 05/06/2022 12:40

Hello all! I have been over indulging massively over the last few days as we had friends here and hosted a party. Currently eating cake... but will get back on it tomo.

How are you feeling @WouldBeGood ? That was rotten luck.

WouldBeGood · 05/06/2022 13:21

Hi all, and impressed with all the exercise and weight loss!

despite feeling rubbish I have kept up the exercise and calorie counting, mostly! I felt ok in my dress despite the belly, and was glad I’ve toned up the arms! I got a second wind when the dancing started, but sadly was taken home/ DP not a drunken party dancer 😃

just been a run! Well, a couple of k at a stately pace. So it’s bacon sarnie time, I reckon

keep it up everyone! My holiday is in about tgreee weeks so I need to keep on it!!

runningpink · 05/06/2022 13:50

I woke with a new found determination today. Made a big bowl of salad up rather than making daily. Bit of a light bulb moment that it will save time and il be more inclined to eat when it’s already ready.

Not going to calorie count as such but weight out my food for portions and loosely track.

I want to go shopping for clothes for my holiday in the size I want and also to feel comfortable whilst away.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who has a ‘good’ day amd wishes
you could see some sort of impact from that one day. 😂

Im glad you had a good time in the end @WouldBeGood
@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo your allowed to have some fun so hope you have enjoyed the over indulgence and like you say you can get back to it tomorrow

OP posts:
WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 05/06/2022 16:34

Well done both! I am broken today but holiday is 4 weeks for me so I reckon I can shift a few more pounds by then with a bit of determination.

Not today though, DH is betting the bbq on...

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 07/06/2022 13:07

Hi everyone, how are we faring this week? I've got 4 weeks to become beach/pool wear ready, so on a bit of a mission. Must. Stay. Strong. Have a bit off socialising planned over next few weeks so it will be tough to stay on course!

How's the determination holding up @runningpink ? Having healthy things in the fridge is a great idea. How are you feeling @WouldBeGood ? Glad to have some company on the 'upcoming holiday bus'! How's the post bank holiday motivation @TeeNoG and @mapleleavesreturn ?

runningpink · 07/06/2022 13:20

Determination is pretty good.

Went over calories a little on Sunday but I had cycled 30 miles and walked 12k steps so needed more.

Was visiting friends yesterday so not able to track but feel like I was pretty good.

Everything has been weighted today and tracked.
I’m slacking on the exercise and steps this week so planning to run shortly then go a walk later and a fitness class this
evening.

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo good luck staying on track for the next few weeks
for your holiday. It’s a good goal to have in mind.

I tried a pair of shorts on yesterday which I couldn’t get anywhere near fastening so I’m going to try again at end of month and see if any difference
